Just a curiosity question. Does anyone know who 9Key is? They are from Texas, not a WGA member, doesn’t appear that they have ever been in Wisconsin, but all of their logs show up on the WGA recent log page.

We know that the WGA recent log page tracks activity of Wisconsin cachers while they are out of state. It looks like this Dallas cacher was somehow identified as being from our state.

12/18/2008 at 2:16 pm #18990549Key is indeed from Texas. I think that membership in the WGA includes your name popping up on the recent logs, I believe if you’ve linked your membership to your gc.com profile it includes out of state finds. Jeremy could probably answer that more clearly.
Anyway, 9Key has family in central Wisconsin and has visited, I believe I even made an offer to cache some time, and have one of his geocoins.
You’ll see a lot of cross-border logs from the Illinoisans and Minnesotans, and the AlabamaRambler has logs on our site from time to time as well. Just part of the extended WGA family 😀 .

Correct, if a user provides us with a link to their gc.com profile, we will pick up out of state logs for that person in the Recent Logs module. It doesn’t matter if they live out of state / are not a member, are inactive, etc.
It would be easy enough to change the module to exclude the logs from certain groups of users if things get distracting. (And you can always look at just Wisconsin finds using the filter feature.)
12/19/2008 at 4:40 pm #1899056When setting up a new cache hide last night I noticed an acknowledgement of thanks to 9Key for assisiance with the attributes page. This is enough for me to see them pop up whenever they want on the WGA pages. Now I’m even more curious and I also noticed that they have a phenomenal amount of hides in Texas.
