Just wondering if anyone has planned on going down to Mark Twain State Park at the end of March for MOGA 2009? If you have been to this, I would like to know more about it.. competitions and such, or if it is kid friendly.

I plan on going. I have a friend in TX who goes every year he loves it. He takes his entire family which includes young kids. I will email him and see what kind of details he has.

This will be our third year attending MOGA and it is very kid friendly, Emily started going with me the two years ago at age four. We just don’t do the competition aspect of it. If anyone has specific questions about attending feel free to email me directly at [email protected].

We have just made plans to attend on our way to the Ozarks this spring. this will be our 2nd MOGA. We had a great time when we last attended. Don’t know if we will be camping or not yet.

I would love to go if I could find someone to go with me and I get the ok from the cardiologist. The neurosurgeon already cleared me. 😀 Hopefully I’ll get the all clear in the next week or two. Keep your fingers crossed!

I am going down by myself and was originally planning on just doing casual caching. As of now I’m planning on entering the single competition, but I have not officially signed up for that yet.

Just for all of you attending MOGA 2009.

I have a campsite at the “Badger Campground- Site 2”. I didn’t sign up for the competition part of it but would love to meet up with some Wisconsinite’s to do some caching, or just have a few cocktails and share some stories by the campfire.

There was suppose to be 4 of us going down but 2 can’t go. So it is just the better half and myself. Let me know! Take care and Happy Caching!

It was cold, windy, rain blowing sideways for most of the day, (did I mention windy?), muddy, and did I mention windy and rainy with snow on the way? A great spring day for geocachers. MOGA had over 500 registrants…don’t know how many made it on the trails.

Started out ok, but during the morning caching the rain began in ernest. Soaked and cold by noon, we changed clothes and got ready for the 2-person timed team event in the afternoon. Thought the tent would blow away before se began. Trudged and slipped from cache to cache, some areas near the lake had “moon grease” to walk through. Finished soaked again, so off 16 miles to nearest town for supper and laundramat to dry off…again. At the evening program found that Team Hotdogs Off Trail took 2nd Place in the 2 Person Over 40 Team Competition. Coming home with two trophies for Wisconsin, our first ever.

Who says this game isn’t addicting?
