I found this while looking around the state on GC. I won’t say where it is in case someone wants to see if they can find it.

S|S, you could have used this on one of your Big Smiles caches. 😆
01/16/2009 at 5:59 pm #1900450that is sweet!!
01/16/2009 at 6:25 pm #1900451That is a bit farther than I usually like to go……but that IS really cool. It must have been hard to get it just right.
01/16/2009 at 6:50 pm #1900452damnit- the minus button doesn’t work…
01/16/2009 at 6:53 pm #1900453I know where it is. We were nearby the area this year and even bought the coords with us but we went in a different direction and did other caches
01/16/2009 at 7:23 pm #1900454Google earth doesn’t do the smiley face justice.
01/16/2009 at 8:09 pm #1900455I tried to do something similar with my Riddler series of caches, but I had to make too many changes to get them to fit so it never looked right. I never published the final Riddler that was to explain it all.
If I ever bring the series back though, I may try it again. It’ll just take a lot more patience (myself and the reviewers) and a heck of a lot more time.
01/16/2009 at 8:26 pm #1900456I found another one

Check the county sharing the name of your hometown. 160 miles WNW.01/19/2009 at 3:50 pm #1900461Hey TBC,
Thanks for pointing out that this is a smile. When I saw it, I just thought it was a cool circle, but now that you point it out, it is even more cool.
BTW, for anyone wanting to do these caches, they are in a great woods, however are not winter friendly at all and the snow is quite deep there right now. I did a couple of them before the deep snow persuaded me to go elsewhere.
The other thing cool about this series, is that while it appears as an easy cacher trail and they are pretty close together, it is not an easy cacher trail because the caches are laid out in a woods with many elevation changes and a lot of bushwhacking between caches. Should be an excellent place to visit as soon as the snow melts.

01/19/2009 at 4:25 pm #1900462Okay, I finally had to ask the z-man to let me know where this is. Sheesh! We got FTFs on most of them, and I’m pretty sure the owner did not place them to obtain this map. I’ll have to let him know.
Now that I know where it is, I have to concur, that although these are just our kind of caches–obviously!—most will not be winter friendly right now. When the snow is gone, grab your best hikers and perhaps a walking stick and prepare to enjoy the wilderness and some great scenery from on high (once you get to that point). A cardio workout in the woods, what could be better?
An added hint; wait until the lupines bloom, because not only are they beautiful, you might have the chance to spot a rare Karner’s Blue Butterfly. Though we haven’t seen them in this particular location, one cache very nearby let us get a look a couple years back.
01/19/2009 at 5:16 pm #1900463Podcacher did a story about this series a few weeks ago. Here is a link to the blog by the owners:

Very creative.
There is also a heart shaped series of caches in Utah:
