This sticky forum topic is provided for WGA members to share their recommendations regarding good places to eat in this region.
When you make a recommendation, please provide as much information as you can. At a minimum we need the name of the restaurant, type of food served, and the city/town where it is located. We are all geocachers, so the coordinates of the establishment would also be helpful. 🙂
If there is a need to edit or delete your recommendation at a future date, just post a note in this topic and one of our forum admins will take care of making the change.
Thanks in advance for your recommendations!

04/05/2009 at 7:02 pm #1903561Inn at Cedar Crossing, Sturgeon Bay
When we were staying in Sturgeon Bay last month, we asked our innkeepers to suggest a place for dinner within walking distance, and this is where they sent us.
The Inn has a restaurant attached to it, in an old, beautifully maintained building right downtown. The food was exquisite, the service impeccable and the mood relaxed. We could carry on a conversation and not feel like we were fighting the noise level, which is always a plus. The dinner was not cheap, but we were well fed, with well prepared food, and because they thought Trekkin’s chicken took too long (we didn’t), we each got a free dessert! Casual dress is fine, but I’d say this is the kind of place where you’d want to change into clean clothes before you eat here. Perfect end to a great day of caching in the Door.

El Azteca – Appleton
Yes, he eats there often…but since I’ve seen him there a couple times what does that say about me?
Angels (formerly Seven Angels)
1401 E John St. AppletonPretty much everything, but I typically go for breakfast. Watch out Sunday mornings though, they get VERY busy. The best part is that you get huge portions for a reasonable price.
Menu online. http://www.angelsrestaurantappleton.com/
04/07/2009 at 4:01 pm #1903564Charlies Island Cafe
211 Angle St
Crivitz, WI 54114
715-854-2933N 45° 14.010
W 087° 59.788“Breakfast – Lunch – Dinner” – At the only Traffic light in town!! Family restaurant offering a good variety of food including a small buffet and reasonable prices. Food is good and nothing fancy. Home cooking kinda thing. It is where I usually go when staying at the cabin Up Nord.
04/07/2009 at 4:10 pm #1903565Gateway Bar & Grill
706 N. Hwy 141
Crivitz, WI 54114
(715) 854-7943N 45° 13.979
W 087° 59.768
At the only traffic light in town. If you and the family want to catch the game on TV, play pool, have a beverage and some wings, sandwiches or other simple dinner, than this is the place. They serve breakfast (on the weekends only I think, but not 100% sure), lunch and dinners here. A bit pricey for a Bar and grill, but not outrageous.
04/09/2009 at 12:51 am #1903566Wayne’s Family Restaurant on Hwy 41 in Oconto…the best banana cream pie you’ve every tasted 😆
Oconto...the birthplace of western civilization:)
