So I watch alot of the trackables that I find, and today one of them was picked up from a cache that is a pretty serious hike from the closest parking. I was like cool someone else gets to see what a cool coin it is, so I go check out the persons profile. Account created yesterday, and 0 geocaches found, not even the one that the coin was in, and the only item listed on trackables is the coin. That strikes me as just odd. Below is there profile. Does this happen alot?

Maybe you can contact the person via email. Welcome them to Geocaching and ask them to join the WGA or just general talk about what a nice cache it was where the coin was placed. See if they respond.

The only thing I can think of is maybe it is a new geocacher, and someone brought him/her along. They found the cache together, and the more experienced cacher told their friend that they could take the coin and log it. Other than that…. I have no idea??

Or it’s someone that is embarrassed they had a coin too long and decided to create an alias to hide their identity to deposit the coin.

who would ever do that!!?? 😳

can’t explain the created yesterday but i did meet a couple once who kept track of their finds on a spreadsheet, they signed the logs but never logged online.

one of the fist geocachers does the same thing, never logs on line, has a notebook that lists all of his finds, he is one of the cachers who helped put out the original stash plaque

    His GC name is Team360

Another possibility is that this person had been part of a team and has started up a new account to hand their own finds. If I was a betting man (I’m not) I would say it’s a sock.

I gave my family members the cow coins for Christmas and will probably set up dummy accounts for them to watch the coins travel. Is it possible this could be the situation too? ❓
