Not limited to caching, but have you ever been asked a question over and over about your job or some hobby that you just wish you could reach out and smack them for asking?
I scuba dive, and when i tell people the one question I get all the time:
“Got your own tanks?”
Valid question, but after the first 2-300 times…
05/09/2009 at 10:27 pm #1907586“How much money to you get caching??????????”
05/09/2009 at 10:31 pm #1907587“So, you’re retired, huh? When are you going to move to Florida?”
05/09/2009 at 10:44 pm #1907588what do you think about favre?
05/10/2009 at 4:27 am #1907589Why do you play Fantasy Football?
05/10/2009 at 5:15 am #1907590Is it legal to drive up that far to the cache?
05/10/2009 at 11:53 am #1907591any question related to fixing someone’s computer… there was a t-shirt once that said something like “No, I cannot fix your computer” or something like that.
05/10/2009 at 12:20 pm #1907592So, I drive my motorcycle to the grocery store to pick up a few items. I place on the belt at the checkout the few items and my motorcycle helmet (so I can get my wallet out).
Inevitably the checker asks “So, do you ride a motorcycle here?
I reply “No,I’m in the car and my wife’s driving.”
05/10/2009 at 12:27 pm #1907593I use a lot of fifty-cent pieces and I almost always get one of the two:
“What are these, dollars?”
“What are these, quarters?”05/10/2009 at 3:00 pm #1907594@Timberline Echoes wrote:

Or, what do you get when you cache? In reference to prizes, money, etc. I guess people still don’t understand the thrill of the hunt.

No KIDDING! I finally gave up trying to explain to a couple people at work that geocaching is not finding the hollow rocks that you break open to see the pretty crystals inside.

Literally laughed out loud on that one! That’s the best I’ve heard…that, of course would be Geode caching.

Geocaching itself is to blame for this by continuing to bill itself as a “high tech treasure hunt.” I guess “high tech tupperware finding and paper signing game” doesn’t quite have the marketing pizzazz.
On the Left Side of the Road...05/11/2009 at 2:23 am #1907599A couple of classics:
“New and improved!” — how can something be both?
“Certified used car!” — yes, its definitely used!
