CSI – Cache Search Integrated doesn’t visit these forums often although he’s a WGA member in good standing, but we have to give him a shout out after a double whammy this past weekend.
On Saturday, he logged his 300th find at GCXHNH (yes, we found it too but that’s not why we’re posting this). I’d be willing to bet that CSI has more high D/T caches under his belt–and likely more 5/5s–than most people with 300 finds!
Then on Sunday, he took honors with his SECOND Cache of the Month with GC1QPK2. The time and effort that goes into his cache containers is evident.
Now maybe his ears will be burning and he’ll wander into these forums…
On the Left Side of the Road...06/01/2009 at 9:16 pm #1908967Congratulations on the milestone. Reading your log of your adventure was the highlight of geocaching for me today greatly overshadowing my finds today.
06/01/2009 at 10:06 pm #1908968Congrats!

06/02/2009 at 1:36 pm #1908971Congrats Stu, and Michael, too! Been wanting to do that cache for a while myself – wonder why. Glad to hear it’s still there and findable. Congrats again on the milestone and the COTM!

06/02/2009 at 8:48 pm #1908974Wow! This is all a bit over whelming! Add another first – this is my first foray into the Forums. And what a way!
Thanks “gotta run” for opening the thread and for the very nice opening words.
I was trying to find “the perfect cache” to grab for my 300th as I am getting a better understanding of what it means to make a milestone. I don’t shy away from the “tough ones”. They really do challenge. So that’s when I made up my mind to wait a bit and do the “Lighthouse” caches with my 5×5 buddy, “gotta run”. He had emailed me with the idea of trying again for the “1899 Lighthouse” since we were rebuked by the snow back in 2008. (This one has been on the list for a while). So, we made our usual meticulous plan to go out and finally grab the “1899” and while out there, check up on the “1848-59” one. I came prepared to totally rebuild the “1848-59” one as we found most of the pieces of it back in 2008 (enough to log in anyway!) and thought there may be similar troubles with it on this trip. So, “gotta run” was prepared to fix the “1899” if needed and I was ready for the “1848-59”, but there was no need for repairs. All was good thankfully! On the COTM – I was really surprised when people started contacting me about this one. I did not even realize it had been nominated until the 30th when I logged into the WGA site to start playing the “Lonely Cache Game” after the finds out on the Bay.
I saw Marc_54140 at the cache with Astro-D and Duck505 the opening day. A buddy of mine who is fairly new to caching, “Civil Savant”, wanted to go out and do my “BDC series” while he was home (he is only in the area some of the time). That cache happened to come out that day so we went there first to see if he could make it for his first ever FTF – and he did! We were walking back to the car when the others drove in so we went along to watch. Marc was just laughing his bu__ off! It must have caught him just the right way. He was so struck by it he said (I thought in an off-the-cuff sort of way) that he was going to nominate it for COTM. Well, he must have and I didn’t even know about it. Then, now I hear it won! Amazing! I was just trying to find a way to make a container that the muggles would leave alone and would be safe from the rising (flood) waters of the creek in the spring. It was sort of a quick idea.
There are a lot of folks who see that one and get tickled enough to comment nicely in the logs. And apparently they vote on the WGA site too!On that note, I would like to thank all of you for the very nice words and congrats both here in the Forums and via email! Again. I am AMAZED! 🙂
Keep on caching!
06/02/2009 at 10:44 pm #1908975Congrats Stu on #300! Definately a great cache to milestone on.
I have been busy but have not forgotten about working on that night cache together. When I have some time I will bounce some ideas past you. Been busy helping Duck505 plant some new ones lately.
