Maybe this should be in Southwest WI forum, if so, feel free to move!
I may be camping at balckhawk lake this weekend, looking for recommendations of caches in the area? I am new to caching, and from IL, so please be gentle! 😉 I know from Rocky is a Very Good Doggie that The Artful Dodger isn’t something I want to attempt yet, being a newbie, but I wanted to see what you guys had to suggest as well.
Thank you!!! 😀
Since you mentioned The Artful Dodger, I’m guessing you’d consider others in Governor Dodge. We did most of them and enjoyed them all. There are also two EarthCaches in the park as well.
You aren’t that far from Richland Center, where GR8 Eyes has put out a boatload of caches geared to newbies. Also check out two there called “Richland Center Towers” and “The Out of Towners.” Challenging hike up some trails that overlook the valley below.
I did one on the southern side of the Wisconsin River that was a challenging hike up the (very steep) side of a bluff, that had a great view of the river and the Iowa bluffs in the distance. GCTVZH

We are still working on the easy ones, gaining experience and working on endurance before trying the harder ones. We’ve gotten some 2.5’s, but I think that they were mis-marked, personally. Pretty easy, even for newbies! But we’ve
Thank you for your suggestions, I really appreciate them!
