    Hey,

There’s this puzzle cache on Oahu that isn’t far from where we’ll be staying and it’s that wonderful combination of 5/3. So, here’s one part of it which requires some math I know I learned long ago in the distant past.

“The pilot’s voice announces that there is a problem and that people in 6 of the seats need to move to other seats. Being a geocacher on vacation (like that really happens) you notice that the total of these 6 seat numbers equals the numbers of stitches on a baseball (Woo, where did that come from?). Four of the numbers are even. There is something about these numbers, you have seen them before.”

I know there are 108 stitches on a baseball. Can some math person help me remember how to set up an equation to solve that part of the puzzle? I still understand how to calculate an algebraic equation, but setting one up must be a brain cell that died. Thanks!

P.S. The flight number in the storyline is Flight 815. I’m sure that’s relevant somehow.

Man, I guess I need to get with the Program here. I think I’m on the right flight to a solution now, but still scratching my head.

First I get a refresher in Dr. Who, now this!

    Hi

Do you just want the answers?

These were prominent digits in an episode of the TV Show, “NUMBERS.”

I figured that part out and have those numbers. (We actually watch that show sometimes).

I think I’m sort of on the right track for this thing. I have two weeks left to ponder it, LOL. I guess I could forget about it, too. We have other things to do while there….snorkel, kayak, hike, eat poi, that kinda thing! But if geocaches are in our path……

This is the puzzle I’m pondering. GC11FK8 Another TV show, one I never watched but know much more about now, is part of the puzzle. I’m stuck on the numbers and how they fit into the left hand cell message. I *think* the number for AB =23.

I’ll take nudges without any outright answers. I do like that aha moment for myself, but in this case, don’t mind some good pushes toward it. It’s not like I’ll have a second chance at this one.

The puzzle has something to do with a show that is part of the name of a recent finder of this cache. I suspect you may want Jacks seat number, if you cant find that, his seat number is one of the numbers in Hurley’s winning lottery ticket.
    Hope the nudge helps

Yeah, I kind of figured that much out. That business with the L and W is confusing me. I am one digit short there. Hmm. And why do I have to look at L and W, anyway? They don’t seem to be part of the coordinates in the other text message.

Leeward and windward? I know that is part of location directions on the islands, so maybe…….but I still don’t get it! LOL
