😀 😀 😀 😀 😀
I wanted to take a moment and acknowledge MuddyBottoms for the “Ripon Parks Tour” series of caches. This series included a cache in each of 6 parks in Ripon with each containing a clue to the final.I thought the caches were well hid and composed a variety of different hide techniques. The coordinates were almost exact with the exception of a small deviation on one. Having the coordinates put you dead on was extremely nice compared to some I’ve done recently.
I made the “tour” attempting a FTF sweep by getting up extra early, but things didn’t go quite as planned. Managed to log 3 FTF (individual) and 3 CO-FTF with Jim from the JimandLinda team. The elusive 7th was a JimandLinda exclusive FTF which I caught up to later in the morning.
08/30/2009 at 1:43 pm #1913229Sounds like a good set of caches that MuddyBottoms has put out. Ripon’s not too far from us either. Thanks for bringing this to our attention, CodeJunkie, and congrats on the FTFs for you and JimandLinda on these.
08/31/2009 at 1:37 am #1913230Thanks for the kind words. I hope everybody finds it a challenge and enjoys the series. Thanks CodeJunkie for letting me know about that bad coordinate at Ceresco, I have updated it, and all is good.
08/31/2009 at 5:36 pm #1913231I agree with Codejunkie, this is a nice series of caches. I never knew Ripon had so many nice parks. I completed the series over the weekend.
Thanks muddybottoms
08/31/2009 at 8:43 pm #1913232A great town for a nice cache series! Still room for more!
Thanks, MuddyBottoms! 😀08/31/2009 at 9:00 pm #1913233Oh…no need to worry, we are working on a few more as we speak. Give me a week or two, but they will be done!
09/01/2009 at 1:13 am #1913234A few more in the wings! Great! since the parks series FTF is gone, I will plan my trip for Ripon when these new ones publish.

10/24/2009 at 5:45 pm #1913235If a few factors fall into my lap the way I think they will, I might be in Ripon in a couple weeks for a football game. While I’m there, I might as well hit that series. Is it anywhere near Ripon College? That’s where I’m going to the game.
10/24/2009 at 6:41 pm #1913236Ripon College plays their games on the east side of town along Hwy.23. The parks are on the other 3 sides of town, with the exception of one fairly close to the football field.
But Ripon isn’t that big! About 90 minutes should get them all, if not less!
A fun bunch of hides! 😀10/24/2009 at 11:26 pm #1913237Maybe I’ll run into you if I go there. All depends how my local high school football team does in the playoffs as well as the local semipro football team.
The semipro team played today, but I didn’t go to that game due to illness, so I don’t know if they won. If they did, they play at Ripon college. As for my high school team, if they advance to the playoffs, I’ll be seeing them play instead up north, so I won’t go to Ripon in that case. i’ll know more after October 31st.
10/25/2009 at 5:33 am #1913238Let me know when you are in town! Maybe we can meet up.
10/25/2009 at 11:57 pm #1913239I’ve done this series and enjoyed them a lot. The hides were creative and some quite challenging. A great bunch of caches to a great final. 😀
11/11/2009 at 7:36 pm #1913240Downloaded the max 5 PQ’s today, 4 of them or the green bay area and was gonna go there tomorrow..then looked at Muddybottom’s blog about the caches in that area including 11 on one trail.
So I’ll run a PQ for tomorrow for Ripon and if that PQ is sitting in my inbox when I wake up at 4am, I might do Ripon tomorrow. Otherwise, if that PQ is not in my inbox tomorrow morning, i’ll go ahead with my plans to go caching in Green Bay.
We’ll see.
11/11/2009 at 10:52 pm #1913241Hope you come to Ripon! Thanks for checking out the blog! I look at yours as well.
