I tried to find a thread about this, but came up empty. My wife is heading up-nort to watch her niece and nephews for a few days. She wants to cache up in the Spencer/Marshfield area while gone. I want to do some caching while staying around home. Is there any sort of issue about each of us logging finds under our account from opposite ends of the state at the same time? Might look suspicious as armchair caching or something like that.
Whats your take….let me know, good or bad.

Happens quite often….it boils down to play and log as you see fit.
09/01/2009 at 1:08 am #1913318If every team or family that caches all had to be present when the “team” found a cache, the leader boards would have a whole new look! No problems with it here. I wish I had another member to my team to share the game with on a regular basis. I have a partner once in awhile but not consistently. Busy schedules often lead to solo caching when the opportunities arise.

09/01/2009 at 1:11 am #1913319Agreed, its done quite a lot, easy way to rack numbers up ..unfortunately I’m the only cacher in my house…
09/01/2009 at 1:15 am #1913320Sometimes it looks funny when the logs are coming in from two different areas on the same day, but then you think, “Oh, yeah–must be caching separately today.” Might look like numbers padding if you did it all the time and never cached together, but you can’t expect to keep one member off the trails while the other one gets to go. Just make sure to coordinate if any milestones are coming up for the team! 😀

On the Left Side of the Road...09/01/2009 at 2:14 am #1913322As far as I know, there are no GEO-police……just a few wannabe’s.
09/01/2009 at 2:32 am #1913323We’re taking care of our daughter’s (OPPS5) geo-dog Odie this weekend while his “family” is in Illinois all weekend for a soccer tournament and some geocaching. If I take him to a dog park this weekend and he helps sniff out a few caches can their team log them?
09/01/2009 at 2:34 am #1913324Only if he can sign the log sheet.

Would a paw print do? One of my dog founf a cache for me this last weekend. I heard the “thunk” when she stepped on it. I didn’t finf it the first time and had spent about 15 mins looking for it and walked by it at least a dozen times.

There are those with that much time on their hands to watch all the logs from individuals and identify the location?
09/02/2009 at 1:56 am #1913328Builli the Wonder Dog is a geocaching dog out of Nashville. Owners Abbysgramy and NashvilleJoe “take care of the logging.” I have geocached in person with Bulli (and Joe and Sharon) and Bulli is a great finder with cemetery hides. Tami
09/02/2009 at 2:40 am #1913329The Blondie Bloodhound and I cache together about 98.5 percent of the time. That’s what we do. Once in a blue moon she may cache while on a trip for work or a mini-vacation. I may or may not. We indicate who is where just for our own information.
The Blondie Bloodhound now has her own GPSMAP 60 now and is at the ready for any FTF’s that pop up while she is at work (and Toyota Ryan and/or SAGASU and/or Jim are either at the other end of the state 😀 or working a particular shift) so that she can get a FTF. 😀
Well so far that has not happened too much, but the Blondie Bloodhound is at the ready. Sharing an account is the most practical for us and we would much rather cache together than at all. But every once in awhile it happens….no big eddy. 😆
