Please share, we could all use a few more dollars 🙂

    My tips:

Pill bottles make good micro containers, the pharmacy in Algoma sells them for 25 cents each. Couldn’t hurt to check other pharmacies.

Fleet Farm on the east side of Green Bay sells ammo boxes for 7 dollars. Some are so rusted that they have holes, others are in nice shape.

Coinsandpins.com sells some geocoins for cheaper then travel bugs, they clip onto an object just like a travel bug does.

The Burger King on the West Side on Green Bay on Mason street next to Sears sells 5 gallon tubs for a dollar each.

    I can’t resist

    Don’t do geocaching….

Solves all the expense problems associated with it.

Are you referring only to placing caches or do you want ideas on days of caching also?

    ditto…

but on a serious note, don’t bother spending 25 cents each, call the grand parents, inlaws or elderly neighbor, I just picked up about 40 for free I’ll sell them to you for 24 cents each though.. :>

Anything. If you have any good recipes for cheap food to eat while caching share ’em. Time to save the money!

If you do go the film cannister route, be aware that they are not waterproof. Be prepared to replace wet logs from time to time.

Get a Mobil Platinum MasterCard. Charge your Mobil Gas on it and get a 15 cent rebate on every gallon.

We usually carry a box filled with food, loaf of bread, PB, paper towels, granola bars, meat sticks, water, fruit etc. Less meals in restaurants that way.

Cache with others and share the gas cost.

Do cache rescue missions to get free containers! Thus far we’ve recycled three rescued ammo cans, one 50-cal plastic ammo can, matchstick containers, and various odds and ends containers.

Other than that, the power-caching lunch of choice is 2 McChicken sandwiches, hold the mayo, and a large diet coke. $3.15. What a deal.

Oh, and leave the kids with grandma…somehow they always seem to make the trip more expensive…

LOL Isn’t that the truth!!! Without them (Jacob usually brings a friend along) I don’t need to stop every two hours for “more snacks”. Even though I packed a bag full before we left!

I’m hungry. I’m thirsty. Blah blah blah. Geez, we fed you this morning.

Not to mention that small bladders really cut into lonely caching time. Come on! We just stopped four hours ago! Can’t you just use the port-a-tree?

When caching on your lunch hour, change your clothes or keep a pair of overalls in your car…. I found this out the hardway today, I’m pretty sure these grass and mud stains arent coming out.
