I started off geocaching and then really got into EarthCaches. That lead me into an interest in the earth. Now I spend about as much time in the woods geocaching as I do looking for, and collecting rocks. I have quite the collection already, just in the last year. I have no idea what most of them are, but I am trying to learn. Am hoping to take some geology classes once I retire. Now I wish that I would have paid attention in geology class back in the college days a lifetime ago.

09/11/2009 at 11:05 pm #1914114I now love to visit cemeteries as a result of marc’s cemetery puzzle caches.
09/13/2009 at 12:44 am #1914115I like to go to cemeteries looking for “petrified trees” along with a friend who actually tries to find out about the families.
09/13/2009 at 1:15 am #1914116Geocaching led us into letterboxing. Also I’ve done more boating in the last year than in the past 40!

Yep.
I thought I recognized the location GCVJ1Q ….I’ve been to maybe 150 cemeteries and I think that one was my favorite…it’s been three years since I was there and the image was exactly what I remembered.
Not sure about new hobbies, but for me losing one occurred…I used to be quite an online gamer…now I simply don’t have the time what with all the geocaching…
09/13/2009 at 1:22 pm #1914124Thanks to Marc’s cemetery series. I love visiting old country cemeteries. We take many slow walks and always bring along a camera.
It’s called “Taphophilia.”09/15/2009 at 11:59 am #1914125Bec, I am going to use those as my background on my computer – NICE!
It got me back into doing more with new groups of friends, a happy result! -
