Got this message from Maggie Kailhofer, DNR manager at Gov. Thompson State Park NW of Crivitz:
“On 9-26-09 the Governor Thompson State Park, Crivitz, (715) 757-3979 is having a Fall Color Hike and Geocache Hunt. Explore and enjoy the fall
colors at the park or bring your GPS and see if you can find our special
event geocaches hidden in the fall foliage. Kid’s prizes will be given out
for the most caches found during the event for the young or just the young at heart. Refreshments provided by the Friends of Governor Thompson State Park. Woods Lake Picnic Area. Noon – 4 p.m.”
I went to it last year at the peak of fall color and it was awesome! We’ve got trees in the area turning already. I’ve noticed that she’s had three new caches published in the past couple of days with perhaps more to come. And there’s a lot of caches in the Crivitz area to begin with for cachers who’d like to take in the fall color and pick up a bunch of caches. Hope to see you there 😀
