..No caches found in an entire calendar month!! Congratulations to me.
Never thought it could be done. A real milestone. I know most frown on people submitting their own congrats threads but hey this one’s worth it.
Who wants to go caching??
10/01/2009 at 3:47 am #1914668To what do you owe your success, Shane? Congratulations! This must mean you actually have a life, LOL. We’ve been trying to get there ourselves, but don’t have the self discipline you have. ROTFLOL
10/01/2009 at 5:19 am #1914669Never thought I’d say this, but…what a loser. Don’t you have anything better to do than lead a productive life! I mean…there are Tupperware and ammo cans out there just waiting for someone to find them. Guess us newbees are just going to have to pick up the slack.
10/01/2009 at 6:25 am #1914670Nicely done! I did get my GPSr in the summer of ’05 and was able to go 5 months without geocaching. Try to beat that one!
(Tammy whispering—“ya, then you found out about geocaching, and haven’t stopped since!”)

Hello my name is jim and I only found 65 caches this year>
10/01/2009 at 11:34 am #1914672Congrats! I did it in Feb. of ’08. Longest flu bug I ever had! 😯

This is exactly what happened… the cycle was broken.
Now if I could stay off the forums and facebook that long, now THAT would be a milestone…
10/01/2009 at 12:13 pm #1914674Ya I think I was 30 plus a few months ago…cant say though as It’s Not About the Numbers is down at the moment so I have no stats…..
10/01/2009 at 1:17 pm #1914675dang it, next time let me know, i’ll come up with a whizz bang of a title.
10/01/2009 at 1:53 pm #1914676Ah INABTN is back up. I went 49 days from 11/30/08 to 1/17/09 without a find….somehow the little plastic containers seem to lose their draw from time to time….but ya that FaceBook think…now that’s a killer (we all know how much like to talk about myself).
10/01/2009 at 1:55 pm #1914677Firedrill at 2:00 pm today – (see “Thread Stealers” for details). Still an open invite. 😆 😆 😆
10/01/2009 at 2:12 pm #1914678I also have to slow down this month. I’ll be logging #200 and my daughter will hopefully log #100. I’m hoping to make both of these while were visiting Mickey and Friends later this month. Guess that means I’m restricted to FTF’s and Lonelies only.
10/01/2009 at 3:22 pm #1914679Kinda like going off tap beer, and settling for champaigne! 😉
10/01/2009 at 6:53 pm #1914680I went out 4 days for caching in September, but still had 30 plus finds.
With winter coming, I’ll beat my longest geoslump soon enough – 10 days of not caching.
I found most caches in my area and with the shorter days, it does not pay for me to drive somewhere and cache in only like 10 hours of daylight.
When I went to Antigo in June, I was gone for 12 hours. I could have left at daybreak, but had to wait for a cemetery near my area to open so I could get the FTF on a cache there, then proceeded to find 21 of 25 caches over 75 miles in 12 hours including a lunch break and time I got lost in my vehicle(no nuvi back then).
If I was to go back to the Mountain-Klondike-Lakewood area this week, I don’t think I can match that 21 finds with the shorter days that we have now, so I’ll probably wait til spring.
That’s why I was only out for 4 days last month and one of those was an event.
10/01/2009 at 8:58 pm #1914681Congratulations on this accomplishment, Cheeto, but I’m sensing it’s more like giving up something for Lent than it is giving up smoking or drinking. At least, we hope you’ll take up finding caches again . . .
And what’s the longest you’ve gone without eating your favorite orange snack lately? 😉
