Thanks to everyone who had sent well wishes for the surgery that I had yesterday. Everything went well with the removal of my gall bladder. We went in at 7:30 AM and were home by 3:00 PM. Right now I’m in a lot of pain and geocaching in the next few days is definitely out. Maybe by the weekend I’ll try a couple easy ones (Sunshine says no). We went out with our grandkids and found a dozen on Sunday to hold me over. We’ve been having a great year both finding and hiding caches so I think October will be a bit of a resting month for us. We’re looking forward to seeing everyone again at the All-A-Glow event in a few weeks.

Bill, continued well wishes for a quick and mostly painless recovery. Maybe you and the grands can stay in with a movie. Or they could teach you about their video games (although Wii might be out for awhile!) 😉 I know our boys always got a laugh out of watching us try to play Tokyo Extreme Racer.

We had the Opps5 clan out last week and they told us you were still out cachin right up until the surgery. Glad it went well.

I too echo T&B’s well wishes, stay home, relax and heal. The caches will still be there in a few days.

Hopefully they did not leave any parts of surgical instruments in you like they did me 😯

Heal fast! Too wet to cache anyway! 😀

I too had my gallbladder removed but back in 1998…..right between having Duelist and Princess. With Sunshine taking care of you, you will heal in no time with all that TLC. Best Wishes! Tami & Wade

Wishing you a speedy recovery, food that tastes great and doesn’t aggrivate you, a cloudy sky perhaps to rid you from the urge to cache and/or supplies to make some creative caches to fill any “cache” urges 😉 , a good book or two to read to stimulate the mind, and Sunshine by your side. 🙂

Thanks everyone for all of the well wishes. It was nice to have some contact with geocachers while recovering and waiting to get back out. It’s amazing the surgery that they can perform nowdays. My surgery for the gall bladder removal was last Monday and done as an outpatient. I was home in 8 hours. After 2 days of pain I gradually started feeling a little better each day. Today we took our grandsons Evan (10) and Eric (7) with us and hiked about 3 miles in the Southern Kettle Morraine and found 8 caches. I even climbed the tower at Lapham Peak. Now I have to not become foolish and keep on a slow pace to full recovery. I still don’t feel like I could lift anything very heavy and that’s probably a good thing. I’m looking forward to some of the upcoming events and getting back out to thank some of you in person.

Wow. How did I miss this. Had I known Bill, I would have offered up my services. You could’ve stayed home and I would’ve been more than happy to make a house call. Your kitchen table is plenty big. I wish you continued success in your recovery. To think, I was going to see if you might have been interested in a small side job. Maybe this spring. Don’t take it too fast.
