The homepage used to have information related to us Wiscosinites. Now it is just white. At least put a picture of the winning cache on there. Not just white.
10/23/2009 at 12:39 am #1915575That was getting to have lots of really outdated stuff on it. I would assume it was all removed and something new will be coming. Maybe a “this page under construction” notice till then?
10/23/2009 at 12:59 am #1915576how about a huge copy of the new logo
10/23/2009 at 1:10 am #1915577Barry, let it go already. That horse aint gonna get up.
10/23/2009 at 2:05 am #1915578As I have said before. Our home page does not encourage people to look farther into our site. It is rather plain and blah.. The big white blank page that has been up for a few days proves my point.
10/23/2009 at 3:24 am #1915579Our Webmaster and the BOD do have lives and other than the WGA and geocaching. The Webmaster has been busy with his real life job.
So,what you you like to see on the front page that is not already there?
Other than a big O’ logo that is.The front page is useless if people don’t even know that it’s there and the majority of Wisconsin geocachers doesn’y even know about the WGA.
10/23/2009 at 3:45 am #1915580Actually I think it is a picture that needs a caption,
Like
“polar bear in a snowstorm”
“Caching in a northwoods winter”
“marshmallow under a microscope”
10/23/2009 at 11:30 am #1915581On that same line of thinking, Sweetlife, what about randomly posting pictures from the photo albums to show how fun this is?
I agree that having a page that is 90% blank does nothing for the association.

I totally understand that other things are going on in peoples lives but it wouldn’t have taken but a minute more to have put up a nice fall picture of Wisconsin and all its colors when they took everything else off of it.
As for what I would want on there I am not really sure.
What I do know is the colors that are being used are dull. It needs to be brightened up. Random pictures of interesting things in the state would be good.
Being that the homepage is the first impression new people get of the site it needs to draw their attention and make them interested enough to take time to go farther into the sight.

Photos of people caching are the first thing you see on the Geocaching.com home page. We agree that adding a similar feature to this site would be a good idea.
10/23/2009 at 2:12 pm #1915585Thanks for the suggestion. I’ll bring it up in the web-site committee forum and see what we can do.
Personally, I like the slide show or picture of the day idea.

Great idea.
10/23/2009 at 3:58 pm #1915587The blank page looked bad, I agree.
I put up a fall geocaching picture that is in our photo album.
If anybody has pics that would make good front-page viewing for these slow-news periods, please either post a link here or PM me.
10/23/2009 at 4:20 pm #1915588Just saw the photo on the home page. Looks good there! Even when there are news items to highlight, I say keep some photos there. Photos always catch my eye.
