For the “I’m a Mac” people out there…
Recently upgraded to the latest version of Safari. The next time I went to download some GPX via Geocaching.com to my Garmin, Safari told me Garmin Communicator Plug-in was not installed. I downloaded and installed the latest version and Safari still told me it wasn’t installed. Anyone else have this problem? (NOTE: I remedied the situation by downloading Firefox and the Communicator works fine with it…and I’ve discovered I like Firefox MUCH better anyway.)
Also, as long as I’ve got Mac cachers attention…Do you know of any stat program that runs on Mac?
Mac apparently does not talk to Garmin any more. I had the same problem, and have not resolved it.
Stats programs? There is one out there, but compared to GSAK, it is a cesspit. IMHO.
I’ve had an issue with Garmin Communicator before. But that was on Firefox and I wasn’t the only one who had the issue at that time. So I figured it was just geocaching.com that was having the issue with the communicator. Firefox is a great browser but it is a bit slow. I’ve been testing some of the nightly builds of the 3.6 and 3.7 trunks and they improve a bit, but compared to Safari or Chrome they don’t even come close. If speed isn’t your thing, then stick with Firefox. Its a much safer browser because they release updates to security problems much quicker then Safari or Chrome.
But anyways you wanted a good stats program. The one that I use is from http://www.macdefender.org and its called GCStatistic. It is for Windows, Mac, and Linux.
