This is a question that always pops up on the hunting fourms.
I always carry one with me. It’s a Victorinox Huntsman Swiss Army Knife(SAK). I actually have 2 of them cuz I lost one and then found it about a year later. I’m lost if I don’t have it. When I get ready to leave the house it’s watch, knife wallet. Most of the time when I know I might be heading out in the woods, I also strap on my Leatherman. Comes in handy for micro log removals.
Isn’t that one of Gibb’s rules?

10/27/2009 at 12:55 am #1915809Gerber Multi-Tool similar to this one
10/27/2009 at 12:55 am #1915810Just your basic Leatherman, along with a “mini” leatherman knockoff b/c it has a reall small pliers for the nano logs.
Other than that, just the Glock .40 cal. Open carry is awesome.

That reminds me of the time a lady asked a cop why he carried a .45, and the reply was….because they don’t make a .46! 😀
10/27/2009 at 1:02 am #1915812I own dozens of knives but I carry this one everywhere I go…unless I’m swimming…then it’s on the shore.
10/27/2009 at 1:09 am #1915813I don’t carry any TOTT’s with me, but I guess I should. At the very least I should carry a tweezers to get those logs out of bisons and nanos, then a log roller to roll up the logs with after signing. Rolling nano logs are a pain in the @ss, especially if it is a very long strip.

10/27/2009 at 1:34 am #1915814I have a little screw driver that goes on the end of the corkscrew. I used that to start rolling up a nano log. I have one big thumb that makes picking up tiny things a pain in the butt.
10/27/2009 at 1:34 am #1915815I carry a basic 3″ folding knife. You never know when your going to need it.

10/27/2009 at 2:09 am #1915817It don’t work that way. and before I get how do I have a big thumb,25 years ago, I was riding on the back of a 3-wheeler, holding on to the back handle. Ny buddy gunned it and the wheeler popped up 90 degrees.
Straight up and down. All the weight cam down on my thumbnail. It swelled up, got infected and never went down. So, my right thumb is about 1.5 times larger than my left thumb. It was like the whole bone grew.10/27/2009 at 2:15 am #1915818No, disrespect meant Cheezehead.
so, one big thumb and one bigger. Got it.

If you have a knife or multi-tool in a bag or backpack just remember to remove it before trying to carry it onto an airplane 😯
