Seems like Sagasu has been collecting a bunch of blue question marks on the “Caches Found” list. Kind of hard not to get a few, living in Selzzup, but 500 mystery/puzzle finds? See, Dave, there’s more to caching than getting all those FTFs! Nice job on the achievement.
11/09/2009 at 2:06 am #1916515Congratulations, an impressive number.
11/09/2009 at 2:07 am #1916516500 of those things? Wow, I will be happy if I solve more than a handful of them! Great job!
11/09/2009 at 2:43 am #1916517Some people are gluttons for punishment. Solve on, ye honorable Knight of Selzzup!
11/09/2009 at 3:08 am #1916518The best part is going back add re-living some of the many crazy detours he had on the way there!

thanks Pete for the graphic!
11/11/2009 at 7:26 pm #1916527Thanks for the nods on this surprising number. We, as a family, have had a preference for scenic and traditional caches, but many of the “puzzle’ caches we have done have been some of the best experiences, and more memorable because of some aspect of the puzzle, or something we learned. Not always, as there have been some I wouldn’t do if I knew what I was getting into, nor are all of them based on topics that really grabbed me, or Dan, or Jackie. Kind of force-fed sometimes with nearly one-fifth of our finds being puzzles, likely more than that near home. We don’t even try to do them all any more, having happily come to terms with not needing to do all the caches in the neighborhood.
As for the great puzzle controversy, that freedom to choose to do the caches we want to, or not to do them, is the key. We no longer feel compelled to do all the caches in town, puzzle or traditional, and with a more “relaxed”? picking and choosing approach hope to continue to have as much fun as we have had the past couple years.
For those interested in some of the best of the best for puzzles around the Fox Valley and beyond to add some enrichment to traditional and other cache hunts, seldom|seen’s link in this thread provides a great source of several cachers’ perspectives and experiences with these beasts, including some comments on those that might be more of an investment in time that some would want to make. A lot of fun had by all!
11/11/2009 at 8:13 pm #1916528Congratulations. I can’t even imagine what it’s like to complete 500 puzzles. Although I’m working on SSSS which appears to be the equivalent of 500 puzzles. 😉
