my nephew got a magellan triton 300, used, and wants to know what maps he can get for it that don’t cost a lot. also, how does he load WP’s?
I also have a Triton 300 (wish I didn’t ) but I cant find any maps that are compatible with the 300 I called Magellan’s horrible customer service and I think if I would have asked my 8yr old daughter she would have been more help.. So to answer your question I don’t think there are..
The 300 is pretty basic. I’m not even sure if you can load waypoints on it. The map storage is only 10MB internal memory. I have the 400 which has alot of features the 300 doesn’t. See http://www.magellangps.com/ProductFinder/comparison_results.asp?seg=425 for a quick comparison.
The explorist GC actually looks promising but I havent’ researched it enough yet to know for sure.
But sad to say – the 300 probably isn’t going to be your new geocaching buddy. 🙁
Check out Maps4Me
Also if you can find the Magellan Mapsend maps such as Mapsend Topo US on Ebay or Amazon, they will work on the Tritons.
A very good resource for the Tritons is Triton Forum
