The WGA is now accepting nominations for this year’s Board of Directors election. Click here to go to the elections page and nominate the WGA member(s) you would like to have serve on the Board.
Five positions on the Board of Directors are up for election this year. These positions are currently held by the following individuals:
- Brian Geoffrey (Should’ve Bought Him The Tie) (not seeking re-election)
- Justin Korpal (K0RPL)
- Anne Padgett (Cache_boppin_BunnyFuFu) (not seeking re-election)
- Jeremy Vechinski (jvechinski) (not seeking re-election)
- Becky Waldmann (greyhounder) (not seeking re-election)
Jeremy Vechinski, Gwyn Calvetti, and Becky Waldmann will be assisting with the administration/execution of the election.
Some general notes about this phase of the Board of Directors election process:
- Individuals must receive two nominations to appear on the ballot when voting for the Board begins.
- Individuals receiving one nomination will be contacted via email to determine if they are interested in serving on the Board. If they are, their name will be placed on the elections page in a list of individuals who have one nomination and are looking for a second.
- Please do not nominate individuals who are not eligible or are already on the Board. To serve on the Board, individuals must be WGA members and meet other eligibility requirements (including being at least 21 years of age) outlined in the WGA bylaws.
- You are not allowed to nominate yourself.
- Nominations will be accepted until January 31, 2010 at 11:59pm. At this time, voting for the Board of Directors positions will begin and continue until 11:59pm on February 14th.

01/16/2010 at 5:21 pm #1919061Bump.
We are now about halfway through the nomination phase of this year’s election. So far there have been about 50 nominations by over 20 members. Obviously a number of qualified folks have declined, nine people are on the ballot, and a few are still deciding whether to run. 50 nominations may seem like a lot, but this is actually less than we received in the past few years.
The deadline for nominations is January 30. Though if you are serious about nominating someone, please do it soon… it takes time for us to send them a nomination email, for them to accept the nomination, and for them to obtain a second nomination to get them on the ballot.
01/16/2010 at 5:25 pm #1919062One other election note. Since someone who I have close ties to decided to run for the Board, I will not be an election monitor this year and Brian Geoffrey (Buy_The_Tie) will take my place. So Gwyn Calvetti, Becky Waldmann, and Brian Geoffrey will be assisting with the administration/execution of the 2010 election.

Is Piwko Kurczak running? Did I miss something? 🙂

They do make a cute couple!
01/24/2010 at 3:23 pm #1919065Another update in election monitors saga. I am back on because the person I really wanted to win decided not to run, but Becky Waldmann has decided not to serve as an election monitor because of a possible conflict of interest. So Gwyn Calvetti, Brian Geoffrey, and myself will be assisting with the administration/execution of the 2010 election.
Just one week until voting starts…
