Whats the deal with this event. I do not have and do not want a facebook account. Why would the WGA post an event that you have to sighn up for a facebook account in order to see the details.

And it’s on 2/21 not 2/27.
02/12/2010 at 1:45 pm #1922029At the time they submitted that event to the WGA, I believe it was not on geocaching.com. Now that it is approved and listed, I changed the link that we have for it to point to the event cache listing.

02/12/2010 at 8:38 pm #1922032Most events aren’t “official” WGA events:
“Upcoming Wisconsin Geocaching Events
* and boldface type indicates an officially sponsored WGA event (official WGA events may be statewide events organized by the WGA Board, or regional events put on by members via the WGA Regional Events Policy)”
This was from the events page that shows up when clicking on the “Events” link on the WGA web site. To get listed on this events schedule, the event host submits the info for listing approval here. Many events get lots of buzz–through forums, GC listings, social networking sites, etc.– before they even show up listed here.

❓
Neither are all but two that are listed on the events page. Why is this one different?02/12/2010 at 10:20 pm #1922034the original link sent you to a facebook page, and not the GC event page apparently, that has been changed
02/13/2010 at 2:05 am #1922035Now that the link has been changed from a facebook log on to the gc page. I just might consider going and grab some caches while up there. I could not understand why WGA would post the event if you had to sighn up for a facebook account first. Something like that should have been in the forums.
Thanks for the link update.02/13/2010 at 2:36 am #1922036@rcflyer2242 wrote:

Thanks for the link update. We will post events before they are published on gc.com, when requested to do so by the event planners, so nothing special here. More often, events are listed right away on gc.com, but that is not always the case. Sorry for the confusion.
