I want to start getting some of the puzzles in the Appleton area off of my to-do list. I’m not looking for coords or a bus tour, just help in identifying the easy solves in the area.
Mainly I’m interested in those located in the southwest portion of the city and surrounding area. What I’m looking for are easy-solve puzzles…nothing that takes more than 15 minutes on the computer. Also acceptable are easy, on-location puzzles. I suck at higher math so those are definitely out…the word “algebra” still makes me giggle because there is a garment mentioned in the word….maybe that’s why I was unable to concentrate on the subject matter back in school….but I digress.
Could someone point me to a bookmark of these easy puzzles or does someone have a list of these they could send to me….or perhaps just suggest some. I don’t want to publicly out the easy solves though so if possible, if you can help me out PM me the information.
I am in the area quite often and generally have about 4 to 6 hours to spend caching so the more listings you could send me the better.

I love those and have done quite a many of them…I still owe you a pic for one or two of them in fact. I believe one is a horse and rider… I guess that is one place I could look…maybe run a PQ for those…still need some more though….
and on that note is there a way to run a bookmark query and exclude the finds you have already made? Keeping in mind I don’t use GSAK. I’m guessing there is not a way to do this and if not then the bookmark has little value.

My hope is that on my next visit up I can knock out a few dozen caches…with only puzzles on the menu. I appreciate the help.Name a center spot Cache, around which you are thinking you will be caching.

Basically the foot bridge across the water is Ground Zero (Menasha) for my desired hunts….though clearly the bulk of puzzles are north of that (Appleton)…which is OK as well. I’m looking at a radius of about 10 to 15 miles.15 miles is a pretty big radius! Let me recommend a few within a few miles of your starting point.
Ok, with that as your starting point, I would highly recommend doing the “Laughing Waters” series: http://www.geocaching.com/bookmarks/view.aspx?guid=de298e27-d7af-4adf-8262-0c8bf9b9288e . Given your appreciation of EarthCaches, there is a lot of content to these puzzles that might appeal to you. The one with the additional logging request is a neat concept, although the fountain itself may be covered at this point in time.
Many of the other puzzles in the immediate vicinity are site solves: GC13HT3, GC1F7T2, and GC1660Q, GC1DR0D, GC1GJ3B, GC15F6F
which are not difficult solves, but may require more time in the field than you want to allot.So, focusing then on puzzles you can desk-solve beforehand, you might want to take a look at some of -cheeto-‘s video game puzzles, which we have not done yet. Also, GC15WQB.
Now, we need to go out about 3 miles to find more desk-solves that fit the bill. GC1M7BE is a hoot (with the D rating a bit high IMO) and GC1PF8A is a quick solve, both with an AL-request.
Check out GC1Y71E and it’s counterparts; at least the first two should be findable and you might get the third depending on how much melting there is.
Going in generally the same direction (i.e., into Appleton rather than west), and focusing on desk solves, you could do GC1DZVM, GC15QCR, GC1A97Y, GC1XFWV. Somewhat more difficult solves could involve GC1P6R3, GC1NRHP, GC11E42, and GC1NRG8.
That takes you from your starting point to about 4 miles northeast and is far more than our team could do in the 4 hours you’re targeting, but it’s a few options for you.

Thanks for all those…Like I said, I do get up fairly often so time really isn’t a huge issue…If I’m able to find enough doable puzzles I might dedicate a full day to the task rather than a few hours (which is my normal practice when visiting the area).
I appreciate everyone’s help in weeding out some friendlier puzzles. I will start looking at all the suggestions made thus far by everyone.

I figured this might help others in addition to your request. I kept my list to the “easy”. Some of the puzzles gotta run lists aren’t as easy as my threshold of easy.
By easy, I stuck to the one’s that you really don’t have to have a lightbulb solve moment. Just find the info and get the coords.

I have a bit of work to do to get to that point…at the moment I’m gathering and sorting information. The first list will include Benny’s on site solves, Marc’s 900 series WSQs and bits and pieces of the other information I received from Cheeto and Gotta Run… Step two is to organize the easy desk solves….the whole process will take quite a while I imagine. Unless I devote a whole day to the actual seeking of these (which is unlikely) I will be stealing away from the inlaws for a few hours pre-sunup (not the WSQs of course) to about 9ish am on some Sat and Sunday…hopefully before the snow all disappears (or we get more of it)…so in short, I’ll likely have to do these solo.
