We have established an account for our Boy Scout Council so we can actively engage in the process of Geocaching in our community.
We plan to set up 2 different series of caches. One is..
“Cache to Eagle” which will try to highlight Eagle projects in Rib Mountain District.
We will also have a series called “The Pillars of Scouting” This will entail placing 5 caches near districts within the council. A final will be at different location where cachers can register for geocoin drawing each month until they are gone.
03/22/2010 at 12:09 am #1925654Welcome to the club, and be sure to check out the caches being put out by the Bay Lakes Council in NE WI! There’s a thread on BSA caches in the NE Wisconsin forums as well:

On the Left Side of the Road...03/22/2010 at 4:12 pm #1925655I have recently read concerns in “Gotta Run’s” link to Bay Lakes. I can assure those who may concerned that at present we have 3 active local geocachers attending to the caches. There are also other Geocaching Scouters in the Council who have volunteered to help and will be utilized for maintenance and cache placement.

03/23/2010 at 3:36 pm #1925657Welcome BSA! My son is excited about geocaching being added as a merit badge. He is a Patrol Leader in the local BSA Troop 507 and can’t wait to earn his badge. Welcome to the WGA.
03/23/2010 at 3:51 pm #1925658Welcome! My son is a Webelo scout now and hopefully will be moving up to Boy Scouting next year. While I live within the Northern Star Council region, I hope to visit some of the camps within your region.
03/24/2010 at 12:40 am #1925659Welcome! As you can see, there are folks here involved with scouting and these forums are a great place to network and share ideas and resources. I hope the boys enjoy caching as much as I do. Thanks for your work in educating young minds and helping them develop leadership skills and friendships.
03/24/2010 at 4:00 am #1925660The Glacier’s Edge Council welcomes you. We moved a tb of yours just a few days ago TB3306A. Look up our caches, search GEC, Treasures of Scouting.
Good Luck03/25/2010 at 2:07 pm #1925661Our team has placed the first 2 of our “Cache To Eagle” series. Look for them to be published the first week of April. Then 2 caches every 2 weeks until all 12 are placed. We plan on having a variety of hides in this series to make it interesting. Cachers will need to match up the Scout Law words with each cache and turn that in to the Council office to receive a Cache to Eagle BSA patch.
