2010 WGA Geocoin Design Contest Winner!!

The winning design chosen by the Referendum vote was Design 3:

Congratulations to BakRdz of Oshkosh, WI for submitting the winning design.

Thanks to everyone who submitted a design and helped others get their designs ready for submitting.

The Geocoin committee will now work on selecting a vendor and work with the vendor to get the winning design ready for minting the next WGA Geocoin!

This is the design I voted for and like it alot.

I have a question though – I was under the impression that we were not voting on the FINAL design but more the general concept. For example, the front I think is really nice and the choice of images is good – I would like to see that used as is – but I’d like to consider changing the tagline on the back -“Tracking down another cache” seems a little hoakey to me. It does go nicely with the tracks obviously. The tracks are cool but the tagline – well, do we need a tagline at all? I think it would look cool with just the tracks. (Need to add some hoof-prints though) just kidding.

So item 1 – is this the FINAL or do we get to refine it – again, I thought this was supposed to be an approval of the concept

item 2 – what opinions on the back do others have?

The vote was for the concept only, and we thank everyone for their input, designs, ideas and votes. The design concept that won will most likely not change much from the final product. We will be looking for input from the vendor that mints the coins for any changes that might need to be made for the minting process, if there are any, the final product will be decided by the committee with the assistance of the artist BakRdz.

Thanks again to everyone that submitted ideas, helped tweak the designs, and to everyone who voted.
