How to I get the FTF stats to function after I run the GSAK macro Find Stat Gen 3.8 to add to my public profile?
Right now, I have been doing a cobbled cut ‘n paste using the “Cache Stats” program and the GSAK Find Stats Generator to generate the profile stats.
The Cache Stats gives me the FTF HTML but for whatever reason I do not get any FTF output from the GSAK macro.
When I run the GSAK macro for stats and then go to ‘options’ at the ‘Find Stats’ HTML Export prompt I do see a call out for FTF seperation and that is set to a value of ‘1’. However, there is no HTML output for FTF stats.

“So how did Clyde figure all this out in the first place?!”In GSAK, you need to click the check FTF checkbox on the caches that you were FTF on. You might need to make that column visable. Click “View” then “Show/Hide Columns” and then the checkbox next to “First To Find”.

No cut / paste really required either. Not sure if you’re aware, but I believe the macro pastes the HTML directly on the clipboard so you can paste directly into your profile page without having to try and extract the source from the displayed page.
If you get the right macro it’ll upload it for you, think its ‘uploadstatsgen’?

That Clyde Black Cat is so smart.
Anyway, just as an aside I dont track my FTFs with GSAK since it tends not to be very accurate. What I do, is make a bookmark list titled “FTFs” and just bookmark FTF caches as I find them. This gives me an accurate running tally.
Once you get your current list figured out with the help of GSAK, it would save you time in the future just to bookmark them all and start adding to your list as you go.

zumaVery odd – I’ve never seen GSAK not report them properly. It seems so simple to do in GSAK by clicking the “FTF” check box. The macro builds the lists complete with hyperlinks and Voila.
I guess it’s not that much different in mouse clicks to do the bookmark list, but I’m partial to “single source” data by keeping it all in GSAK.

I can’t seem to get the ftf column to keep my ftf’s, I like the idea of a bookmark as it would save me from having to recall them every time. I don’t know why it doesn’t save them, I’ve been really picky on trying different ways to save the check, but it doesn’t.
Make sure that the “Clear database before loading” is NOT checked when you load your My Finds pocket query. It will only add new data and won’t change what is already there. You’ll probably want to create a seperate “My Finds” database just for this purpose.
I take and bookmark my FTF’s like Zuma does, but then when I want to update my stats, just run a Bookmark PQ and upload that to my FTF database in GSAK. Then after running a my finds query, copy the entire FTF database into the my finds data base.
seems like lots of steps, but is rather easy.
I’m not an FTF hound like some of you. It’s easy for me to keep track of my FTF’s as I’ve only have 8 FTF’s among my 583 finds. I could have gotten more if I wanted to, but choose not to.
So it’s easy for me to keep track of my FTF’s. I right click on the individual cache on GSAK that I got the FTF on then click “edit” and check the FTF box. It’s that easy.

Well, since you are having such good luck with the GSAK FTF macro, I wonder if you are using the same one that I did. It has been awhile, but the one I used depended on finding the string “FTF” in the log entry, which for me led to a lot of errors of omission and commision. Omitted were FTFs that I had but were prior to having an interest in FTFs, so I didnt think to use the term FTF in the log. And then, after that I had a lot of errors on caches where I might have logged something like “missed the FTF by an hour” as being a FTF since the macro saw the string. That is why I developed the idea of a bookmark list for all FTFs.
What I am wondering, is if there is a newer better macro that finds FTFs using other criteria. Thanks for your help.

Ah! I don’t think we are talking about the same things, zuma. We’re talking about the findstatsgen macro which (besides a lot of other stats) just reports on the FTFs you have marked in GSAK. You still have to mark them manually. I haven’t seen the macro you’re describing.
