Milestones are what you make of them. If it’s important to you, it’s important enough to share with others. HeliDood was nice enough to recognize our find #888 on one of his caches, so we’re returning the favor and celebrating his find #333 on one of our favorite caches, spider island.
Great logs and great photos, HeliDood!
05/31/2010 at 4:53 pm #1929985congrats on the 3-of a kind #333 milestone Helidood.
Spider Island – a cache I DNF’d long ago in the winter and have yet to return to make the find. A very nice cache that has been “perpetual” for quite a long time as the owner hasn’t logged on GC since May of 2005.
This one will live on as long as nobody sticks a NM or NA log to initiate reviewer intervention. Since the cache is there and findable, there should be no reason to make such a log. LONG LIVE THE SPIDERS!!Disclaimer : Always answering to a higher power.
05/31/2010 at 5:05 pm #1929986congrats dood… looked like a very fun time!!! Well, fun as in the caching kinda fun 😉
05/31/2010 at 5:50 pm #1929987Congrats Helidood on the triple. Nice choice on a cache I’ve been meaning to get to ever since a geocoin of mine went through here.
I should finally be able to get there on June 14 (approx) as I canoe through the area on my way down the Wisconsin.

Get out there and do it. This one was a ton of fun. And the water is plenty warm already. You could swim to Spider Island if you wanted to. Swimming would probably be a lot faster than the route I took.
And for the record, I didn’t see any spiders. A few spider webs, but no spiders. I hate spiders, I really do. But while I was driving out here, I was trying to think of why this place would have more spiders on it than any other place. I couldn’t think of any good explanation, and decided it was just some myth.
For #444, I need some kind of Quad ATV cache. That would be appropriate.

Lots of ATV trails near Black River Falls!

06/01/2010 at 12:20 am #1929990Congrats. HeliDood on your # 333.
For your # 444 might I suggest a nice little 4 part multi. like GC24QEF, White River (Multiple) Crossings.

I love these new-fangled milestones! 8) Great job!
I’m sure Pat has a good recommendation for #777. 😉

444 more HeliDood caches to save up for that lottery ticket, BakRdz! 😉
I got a crisp five dollar bill for anyone willing to place a 444 cache power trail in Wood county. 🙂
06/01/2010 at 3:36 pm #1929995Congrats on the #333, HeliDood. I like those three and, even further apart, four of a kind milestones too, though I only noted a fun 666 at an evil hide till I got to my 1111. Wish I would have time to go back to the other three of a kinds, or even the 1234 or 2345, but I do remember the 1111 and 2222 well, and am looking forward to 3333 even more than 3100 and the other hundreds till the next K. Looks like a fun cache to do. Glad it’s a regular; from the hint it looks like it would be a very tough micro. Congrats again! 8)
06/01/2010 at 4:10 pm #1929996Congrats!!!
A brave soul to walk across the Petenwell barefoot…
As for multi numbered milestones the only one I’ve made a big deal about was my 666th find.

I know what you mean. I just did Seldom | Seen’s Tibutary | Off the Hook GC153RQ cache yesterday. Waded through an area of waist-deep water to get to an island cache.
One of my biggest phobias about wading barefoot through opaque brown water is stepping on a corpse or something (or anything dead for that matter).
06/01/2010 at 6:12 pm #1929998Spider Island is an awesome milestone choice, we did that one last summer on a misty morning. Congratulations on a new milestone, Helidood!
