I live in Shorewood and was informed by the ever helpful Brian Russert that a cache I was seeking approval for wasn’t MKE Count Parks land, but Shorewood Park land.

How do you determine where a proposed cache lies and who to ask permission from?

The online maps don’t seem to give me enough info.

    Thanks!

If i have questions regarding boundary type things.
I take the coords and contact 1 of the 2 reviewers and they will tell you.
    seems to work for me

Oh, I was worrying I was bothering them! And actually, the situation I was referring to, the reviewer thought it was MKE Co park land and Russert told me no.

    Thanks for the help.

It sure would be nice if they had lines painted on the ground telling where all the boundries are kinda like on the cartoons.

Google Earth works well for finding boundaries. They are usually pretty close to exact. Just make sure to check the “parks” box on the left.

Remember to fill out and submit the state land  geocaching form 2500-118 to the WDNR for each cache on state land. It I the rules and state land managers appreciate.

if the state manager is unknown you can submit the form to the Madison Office by mail or email.

No need to wait for approval but it doesn’t hurt to follow up with the park to make sure they received it.

    Following the signals from space.
