The circumference of the earth at the equator is 24,901.55 miles.
I am having fun watching a geocoin that I own as it is now getting very close to “going all the way around the world.”
See http://www.geocaching.com/track/details.aspx?tracker=TB1M7HP
which is the link for Zuma’s Cruiserdude Geocoin. As of today it has traveled 24,769.2miles. Perhaps with the next move it will go over, or perhaps it will disappear, but either way it is kind of interesting.

09/20/2010 at 1:26 pm #1936146Way too cool 😀 That means there’s hope for my coins and TBs yet ❗
Oconto...the birthplace of western civilization:)
09/20/2010 at 2:06 pm #1936147Way Cool! three trips across the big pond, across to Japan and many other stops in between.

09/20/2010 at 6:47 pm #1936148That’s awesome, and nearly 4 times as far as any of our trackables made it before being “lost”.
09/20/2010 at 6:58 pm #1936149My Allicat TB has traveled across the pond a few times as well and has actually made it’s way back to me by sheer luck…it now resides in my drawer.
She traveled 30459 miles.
For coins to hit that kind of mileage is pretty awesome as the coins I put out have been ‘lost’.
09/20/2010 at 11:47 pm #1936150Hope those big wheels keep turning.
09/21/2010 at 12:02 am #1936151Looks like it may be headed to Denmark next. That should put it over.
All opinions, comments, and useless drivel I post are mine alone and do not reflect the opinions of the WGA BOD.
09/21/2010 at 11:38 pm #1936152That’s cool. I love looking at the maps of the trackables to see where they have traveled. Congratulations.

Just an update on one of my geocoins. The CruiserDude did just get moved to Denmark, so now has gone 25034.9miles, a distance greater than the earth’s circumference. See the link for details:

10/11/2010 at 8:06 pm #1936154That’s so cool. We just picked up a travel bug this weekend that has been traveling since 2004. These stories are great to hear.
