would anyone be interested in getting a WGA back for their Pathtags? Michigan has their own, and now I see that SLAGA has their own also, it would cost .10 extra per tag but the money would go straight to WGA would you pay $10 extra for a good cause? IF there is enough interest in it, might be something the WGA could follow up on.

10/21/2010 at 1:24 pm #1937695I would be interested, I already paid .10 extra per tag for the pirate skull back. It would be really cool to have something representing WGA on them.
10/21/2010 at 1:42 pm #1937696Cool idea, that would be a good LE item next year 😉
10/21/2010 at 2:01 pm #1937697If there would have been a WGA back available, I would have put in on my first tag.
10/21/2010 at 10:40 pm #1937698Ive sent a message to Pathtags to see what the WGA would have to do to get the ball rolling on this.
10/21/2010 at 11:13 pm #1937699So, if I understand correctly, we could get a custom WGA back made that WGA members would be able to use on their own pathtags?
Thanks for the suggestion and for looking into this Barry. I’m looking forward to hear what you find out.10/21/2010 at 11:54 pm #1937700Here are some other state associations tag backs
it would be .10 extra per tag for a total of $10 on a order of 100 tags, with 100% going to the WGA
could be a easy money maker

I think with us doing our own pathtag sale (we can show our sales of that already to them, we might be able to get a tag back right away. we might have to get a rough idea of how many people are interested. If it happens in time, would like to get it for our 5000 find tag we are workin on.
Hi Barry,
Usually a club will use their logo. We limit the back to a single color right now.
Also, you can bring up the fundraiser program. Generally, we require a club to participate in the fundraiser program first to gauge overall interest for tag products by that club’s member before we invest in a tag back for them. Here are the fundraiser program details:
http://www.geocoinstore.com/index.php?main_page=page&id=5Here is our standard information:
Hello! This is Mike Wunderlich, owner of Pathtags.com – aka “trippy1976” in the Geocaching world. Groups from all over have been taking advantage of some of our great fundraising options to have fun earning money at no risk. I wanted to provide your group with some information around these programs.
The first program is our Fundraiser Tag Program. I have provided a link to the full details below, but will summarize here. Under this program, your organization develops a Pathtag design. Typically this will be your group’s logo or similar. Pathtags.com will produce the tag for you at no cost to the organization. We produce them in sets of 20 tags and then list them for sale at GeocoinStore.com for $20 per 20 pack. For each 20 pack that sells, your organization will get $5. It’s a great no-risk fundraiser. Organizations such as Michigan Geocaching Organization, Texas Geocaching Association and the Military Association of Geocachers have earned hundreds for their organization at no cost and no risk. We would love to invite you to pariticipate in this popular program.
http://www.geocoinstore.com/index.php?main_page=page&id=5A second opportunity is available based on the success of the fundraising program. Your organization can have a tag back created that features your logo and website URL using 1 color enamel. On Pathtags.com we make your back available as an option when purchasing a Pathtag for $.10 per tag additional cost. Every penny of that $.10 per tag goes to your organization and there is no setup fee or other cost to your organization to have a tag back. It’s another great way to earn money for your organization through Pathtags without risk or investment.
I’d be happy to answer any questions you have about these programs and look forward to hearing back from you!
10/23/2010 at 3:53 pm #1937702Ok, so if I’m getting this right, first the WGA must come up with a Pathtag that will be sold in packs of 20 for $20 to gauge the interest in the WGA. Then based on the success of that, we can get a back designed to be used in the creation of any of our personal tags? What is considered a successful fundraiser? How many WGA tags would we need to sell to show there is significant interest? We are gettin ready to design our 2nd Pathtag (yeah, our first one isnt even here yet) and I’m just wondering if we should wait to get the WGA backing, or just have that changed on future tags if we get this to go through.
10/23/2010 at 4:01 pm #1937703We would probably do this on our next tag design. We are planning this for next year so there should be time to get it going.
The Searchers10/23/2010 at 4:03 pm #1937704I guess the question is, who’s gonna be in charge of designing the tag that will be the fundraiser tag? Several designs submitted and a vote? a committee? a lame poll? lol 8)
10/23/2010 at 4:18 pm #1937705We allready did a “fundraiser” tag, but they were sold thru the WGA We should be able to go straight to the tag back. I think this is something that the Board is going to have to contact pathtags about. If they explain that there is enough pathtaggers here interestedin the back I think they will go with it.
10/23/2010 at 4:27 pm #1937706Going straight to the tag back would be great. Maybe Pathtags can offer a discount code for us to use on new orders or something to help stimulate interest and get other WGA cachers into Pathtags at a lower cost. I think that having the custom WGA backs may help get others interested as well. Thanks for taking the initiative on this. Great idea.
10/24/2010 at 4:29 am #1937707Thanks again for getting the info, Barry.
The geocoin/pathtag committe has just begun to discuss this. One thing that we can do in this tread is to guage interest so we can pass some numbers on to Pathtags.com. If you’re interested in having your own tag minted with a custom WGA back, post here.
As far as what the back will look like, that will be decided by the committee. Suggestions are always welcome.
10/24/2010 at 5:04 am #1937708You can count us in on this. We will hold off on our newest tag creation/submission until we hear if the WGA tag back is going to be made.
