I ran across this cache in Montana while checking what’s out there for an upcoming trip to Yellowstone: GC14XCF Published in late September of 2007, no finders (or seekers) yet. That should make for some nice LCG points if it were here! And, no, we’re not going to go for it. πŸ™„ πŸ˜‰

Are there any other really lonely caches you know of that are out there?

WOW. That’s amazing. I got a FTF once that was 4 months after publication, but this one takes the cake. Apparenly there aren’t as many FTF hounds out that way. πŸ˜‰

There was a cache off of the coast of Belize. I cant remeber where and I cant find it on the maps, but it was publsihed in 03′ and not found untill 08. I did find GC22Y94 , which is a year old today with no FTF in the Belize area.

Looked at another one in that area, but at least this one has some kind of track going near it: GCK5H6
It’s been out 6.5 years with only two finds, the last one about 2.5 years ago. At least those aren’t nanos out there!

Yeah, CJ. I figure you could knock this one off in the dark before going to work some day if you lived in that area. 😈

Apparently the oldest unfound cache still alive.

Interesting reads on those last two. Thanks for sharing the GC numbers. Also interesting is that in Ontario they seem to send out reviewer notices when a cache is unfound for six months. A bit different than our LCG and a lot less fun! Make it a contest and someone will go looking for it and find it! I can think of a few candidates right now… 😈

To be honest, I don’t really think I would consider archiving this since no one has even tried to find it. There surely aren’t a bunch of people out there wanting to hide caches in the Canadian wilderness. On the other hand, I probably wouldn’t have published this (the owner lives farther from this cache than I do!), but it was published in the early days before we paid a lot of attention to such things.
