This weekend is the annual Hudson (WI) Hot Air Affair. Come and join in the activities and tour the city fire hydrants for some winter friendly park and tag caching. See ya there!!??
02/03/2011 at 2:42 pm #1942718Now that looks like fun! Do you balloon? (Is that the correct term?)
Just remember, never lick any cold metal object. Even if you’re triple dog dared…
02/03/2011 at 4:52 pm #1942719It was a fun event last year, not going to be able to make it this time tho…
02/03/2011 at 5:04 pm #1942720We’ve been to it twice and had fun both times, but this year we have other plans then. The sight of all those balloons over the river is worth taking the time out from caching, so to those who do go, be sure to see that!
Thanks to DB and I’m sure Spike for continued efforts to make this a fun event and add to the caching opportunities up there.
02/04/2011 at 3:23 pm #1942721Now that’s interesting…am heading over that way for my grandson’s baptism this weekend…may have to check it out 😀
Oconto...the birthplace of western civilization:)
02/04/2011 at 4:42 pm #1942722There are lots of very good caches in the area…..fun and original ones.
02/04/2011 at 6:43 pm #1942723Wish I could make it back up that way, enjoyed the caches I grabbed and meeting you last weekend for the puzzle event. Will definitely bring the family up for some caches (maybe in the summer) 😆
03/24/2011 at 11:23 am #1942724We are planning to head down on our days off to check out a few hydrants . 😯 😉 . Can’t wait. Too bad we did not know about the balloon event earlier. That sure would have been something to see.
03/29/2011 at 1:40 am #1942725We are here, LIVE!!!! Holy Crow. A record for us caching wise. And we even stopped for breakfast, lunch, coffee breaks, and finally said enough at 2:30 pm. We could have nabbed easily another 30 or so. Went shopping, went to Applebees for supper, and sat in the hot tub sipping on brewskis at the hotel, all before 7 p.m. A must do trip for those who have not done this area yet. Make an itinerary of the caches, in order, and have some fun. And of course do George Don’t Live Here No More A letter box cache that is nominated for best cache. Nicely done Da Bloodhound, from everything we had read, this was one trip we had to do, and it got us to drive 8 hours for our 3rd caching anniversary. We had a great time, and will return to the area. I thing we are familiar with every street and road in town now.
