In classic Hack1of2 style, this team reached their 500 milestone at GC2FERA – Evil Monkey Meets Tinkerbell. A very awesome cache to pick – but John, you must tell Kim to leave the stepstool home next time or else she will lose terrain points. Congrats to both of you!

02/16/2011 at 2:22 am #1943026Congrats on the 0.5K mark. Sounds like a great post-Valentine cache.
02/16/2011 at 2:26 am #1943027Congrats guys! After seeing John on snowshoes Saturday I’m guessing the stepstool is routinly taken along so he can stop and sit to rest those wobbly legs of his.

02/16/2011 at 4:26 am #1943029Thanks for the kudos. It took us 8 months to get to 500, we’ll see how long to reach 1,000 or beyond. Since we live just outside of Milwaukee we don’t have very far to go, but prefer the more rural caches. As for the step stool that Kim brought, ahem, I protested and wined about it but there’s no stopping her. At least it was lightweight and I didn’t have to carry it – that would be like holding her purse at the mall for the whole afternoon. But I must give credit where credit is due; she was the one to spot first all three finds today and let me tell you she was a caching machine! Here’s a spoiler picture of #500 that I wouldn’t want to post at the cache web page
http://sudar.smugmug.com/photos/1188990678_pHuoC-M.jpgSo far we’ve cached 92 days in a row but won’t be able to complete the dedicated cacher challenge GC266J4 until at least 2012 (because of Feb 29 in leap year). We’ve been reading up on the Lost Cache possibilities for the LCG and hope to get involved with them this year. Right now we’re primarily working on filling in the holes on our D/T grid. Oh and Mr Greenthumb I think I’ll turn those snowshoes back into tennis rackets 😉
Thanks again for the fun and the encouragement. What a great sport and what a great group of people we’ve stumbled into!
John

It has been fun running into you a couple times. I think I have commented before that it seems you are always having fun while searching. Keep havin’ fun.02/16/2011 at 11:23 am #1943031Congrats on your milestone! It was nice meeting you Saturday and sharing a few caches. Keep up the recent pace and you will meet all your milestones quickly. Onward and Upward (stepstool or not)! 🙂

I have a step stool like that. I also have an extention ladder. Would you like to help me carry it to a 5/5 cache that’s on my list?
