Need some help. I did this quite some time ago, old age is setting in….
I need to be able to check an address/location on a map for the correct elevation to manually set my GPS altimeter. I found this map once, when I first got my GPS. Tried a google search and can’t find it again? I thought it was located within google maps where you could just click on a map spot and get a reading, but I can’t seem to find it now. Anyone?
Thanks

03/07/2011 at 2:37 am #1944248here goes
gps #1 reads N42 59.510 W087 58.683gps #2 reads N42 59.524 W087 58.665
gps #3 reads N42 59.504 W087 58.711
I think the first one is the best read as it had 3d reception and it is the better GPS. thanks for the help.

I forgot to even look at my Topo 9 disc that came with my Delorme PN-40.

03/12/2011 at 3:42 pm #1944251Try using a pilots sectional Wisconsin has two Green bay and Chicago The green bay is for the Northerner half of wi above Oshkosh and The Chicago covers the southern half. also on this map it lists the air ports that are public
look for the a awas radio listing. this will tell you what the altimeter will be
then just input the numbers and you should be good to go. Also on the sectional it lists towers and other hi things that pilots wish not to hit this should get you close to a setting. also its has lat and longs markings that you can pin point your target. hope this works. -
