I discovered this specimen while caching July of last year in Hixon Forest in La Crosse, WI. Can anyone identify this? I may have asked here before, but I do not recall. It still has me baffled. It was orange/red, wet/slimy and here are the pics:

It almost looks like a slug but I can’t really tell.
After visiting a few sites, including WikiPedia, I bet you are right. I plan on making another visit shortly to see if it is still there. If it is gone, I will assume it is a slug. I should mention that there is a hole on the top, which coincides with some families, including the trivia fact that the internal organs of slugs are all at 180 degrees and some contain an internal shell which I discovered while investigating.
