I’m going to be in LaCrosse next week. I have many hours to kill and of course I want to spend that time caching. Looked at the map on geocahing.com and was overwhelmed by the sheer numer of caches there. ❗ Just looking for some ideas on the best caches in the area. Don’t have to be hard ones just ones in a nice senic area. Any help would be appreciated.

I was in LaCrosse at a conference last month. I didn’t have a car so I didn’t get to do any caching other than the one that I got to walk to from the hotel. It’s not great, just a park and grab and it’s not a scenic area. But if you’re in the area and looking for a quick grab it has a good container. It made me laugh. GC1DZ15

Scenic? try the along the bluffs (Hixton Forest or Grandad’s). Cross the river to LaCrescent to do Trekkin and Birdin’s AMS series that will give you a workout.
I have some caches about twenty miles down river on the Minnesota side that have some nice scenery also. Be warned that LaCrosse has a ton of micros and some are not maintained well, loads of park and grabs along with some that will make you tear your hair out because of the insanity of the hide.
The Experimental Forest off county II and SH162 out near Bangor/West Salem has some nice hiking caches also.
