Our anniversary is tomorrow, and our original plans are being messed up by weather. But never fear. It looks like things will be decent up near Grandfather Falls, so we’re planning a day trip up there. We’re getting things along the way, following a route that goes more or less through Owen/Withee, Merrill, Neillsville and avoiding the construction mess on 13 around Marshfield.

So, if you were celebrating an anniversary and wanted to stop for nice food on the way back from the falls, but knew you’d be sort of grubby, where would you suggest? We like most anything, but are always looking for the local restaurants instead of the chains. Thanks!

Chips’ right in merril has been recommended as a decent burger…smells good when driving by, never ate there before. It looks like your typical drive up diner.

There is also a good place right off of 51 by walmart in merril, has green roof, just can’t remember the name, huge menu, lots of portions for the money.

    Congrats on the Anniv!
