On Saturday, September 23rd, I placed my first geocache and posted all the info on Geocaching.com.
As of this date, it has not shown up in the listing in my area (54494).
The name of the cache is ” Fire Call”.
Any ideas?

did you click the box under the map in edit listing that said—
Enable cache listing. It is ready for review. (If the listing is not yet ready to be reviewed, uncheck this box.) Note: Only ‘Enabled’ cache listings are visible to the reviewer.?
Make sure there isn’t a reviewer note on the cache page. You probably won’t get any kind of notification. You have to look.
And to answer your question, it normally takes no more than a day or two to get a cache listed if there is not a problem with the cachepage / location.
I submitted 2 caches late yesterday afternoon and they have both been found already. it’s pretty obvious that you did something incorrect, but only the reviewer can help you out. I’m sure one of them will weigh in here soon.
I just took a look at it (I’m not your reviewer, but I’m the reviewer for Iowa) and yes, your reviewer Bec did post a note to you about a problem with your cache — it’s too close to an existing cache. You need to return to the cache page and look at the note she posted for you.
I am one of your reviewers, and what Ken says is correct. That said, if you are going to place geocaches, you need to have an active email account and monitor this email account regularly to see what is happening with your cache. Additionally, you need to make sure that emails from geocaching.com are not ending up in your spam folder. Note that you received a response (from the other reviewer) the day after you listed your cache. If you have used a “throwaway” email account to register on geocaching.com, you need to change it to an account you actually use. Otherwise, you should not be placing caches as you will not receive the necessary communications.
