I post here today with great sadness. Recent, and not so recent events in my life have made it impossible for me to continue as a member of the WGA BOD.
I have thought about this for months, and have tried to return to my duties here many times, and just haven’t been able to. It is with great regret I must resign my position on the board. I find that this is the right, and the fair thing to do at this time, and for me it is a must. My health simply must come first, and my father is very ill as well.
I want to thank the members and the board for the opportunity to work with you all. In the time I was here, I feel we made some great accomplishments, and I am so very proud to have worked with this specific board, making all the great changes and improvements we were able to do in such a short time. They were all great people to work with, and I encourage you all, to jump in and try your hand at the board. It can be a lot of work, but it has also been very rewarding.
I apologize to all who nominated, voted for me, and supported me. I feel that I’ve let you all down. I so miss the camaraderie, friendships, and this awesome community we’ve all built together. I hope that some time in the future I am able to return to this community and jump back in and help in any way that I can. I’ve missed this place so much, and hope that when I return, you can all forgive me for having to leave on such short notice, and will allow me to return, and start lending a hand again in whatever way I can.
Until then, please keep this community headed in the great direction it has been. Goodbye for now, and I hope to see you all again some day soon!
12/10/2011 at 4:07 pm #1954945Jay, I have been in that same position and had to make the same decision to not continue my board service. One’s own well being and health always trumps geocaching. We wish you well and thank you for your willingness to serve the interests of geocaching in the Badger State. Take care.

12/11/2011 at 1:56 am #1954947TDSG,
We haven’t met, but I wanted to let you know how much I have appreciated your contributions to the WGA and my experiences as a recent (2.5 years) Wisconsin geocacher.
12/11/2011 at 2:59 am #1954948Thank you for all that you have done for the WGA, Jay, not only in your all-too-short stint on the board, but also in all the years that preceded that. We often forget that geocaching is just a game, no matter how seriously we take it. Life intervenes and takes precedence. Take care of yourself and everything that requires your attention. The WGA isn’t going anywhere, thanks to the work that you and others have done, so here’s hoping we see TDSG back here before too long.
12/11/2011 at 12:14 pm #1954949I don’t know you but I appreciate the work you’ve done nonetheless. Take care of yourself!

12/11/2011 at 2:26 pm #1954950My family has met you twice and had a good time chatting. Sorry to see you leave and do not regret anything when the family in involved. We wish your family well and good health. Thanks for your great puzzle caches and hope you find time to keep caching.
12/12/2011 at 12:33 am #1954951I only met you once working on the campout this year. I hope that your circumstances improve for you and your family. Thank you for your work on the board and for the geocommunity!
