    Greetings fellow WGA members,

My name is Rob England and I am a candidate for the WGA Board of Directors. I have been caching since October 2006 with my wife Karen. I would like take this opportunity to tell you a little bit about myself and share a few thoughts about geocaching and the WGA.

I first learned about geocaching from an Internet search I did for a GPSr I was interested in purchasing for hiking. Several months later I purchased my first GPSr a Magellan Sportrak Pro. The first cache I found was located along the lake front here in Sheboygan, though it has long since been archived I still remember the thrill I had of finding this hidden treasure in a place I had walked by so many times in the past. From that point on I was hooked, and now over 1500 caches later I’m still hooked.

As a WGA member I have served on the Website committee, volunteered at numerous events including pancake breakfasts, waypoint downloads at The West Bend Cache Bash, manning several informational booths at different events, teaching Geocaching 101 classes, and teaching a Geocaching class for the Bay Lakes Council 5-Star University of Scouting.

The WGA has made some great strides since I first joined. We have an upgraded and improved website, the Cache of the Month has been changed to more fairly recognize caches in other areas of the state, and we now have events that are reaching more areas of the state. With all these great things that we have accomplished we still have areas that need work. Among these are member retention, and recruiting new members.

Geocaching has allowed me to meet some wonderful people over the years and have some truly incredible experiences that I would never have had otherwise. I want to serve on the WGA Board of Directors so that I can give back to the geocaching community that I am so proud to be a part of.
