Hello all! We have been preparing to place our first cache for quite a while. The park we originally wanted is undergoing some projects so is off limits till the spring. We have a large wooded area near our home. Right on stateline road that is NOT for sale and we are unsure who own’s this there is no indication in pleasant prairie public record. IS it safe to place here? Should we contact the city? Not sure how to go about this any advice would be great we are so ready to get this out and published!

09/30/2012 at 6:27 am #1964243You can look up who owns the land at http://www.wisconsin-wi.com/wisconsin-gis-maps.html by looking at a county GIS map. Then you can ask the owner (whether it’s an individual, the DNR, etc.) for permission. It’s always good to get permission.
10/01/2012 at 12:38 am #1964244Thanks! I tried to look on that GIS website the page would never load for me on any computer I tried. I got a reply saying it is private property owned by
Lake View Homes Inc.
1400 Hicks Road
Rolling Meadows, IL 60008Wehn i look up this place there is no buisness by this name at this address it is now a carpet store, I can’t find the buisness by itself. This property has never been built on no sale signs just a wooded area. Any clues on how to find these people would be great thanks everyone!!

10/01/2012 at 2:28 am #1964245Sounds like a land development company. Could be vacant for years or a condo development next year.
You have the address so you could send a request. Hopefully they geocache and feel it will attract interest in the property.
10/01/2012 at 2:47 am #1964246well after some searching my husband figured out Kenosha county owns the property and that was the management company that I am not sure exists anymore. So we send a email off to the county and we will see what they say!
I have lived in this town 31 years and its always been wooded area so I really hope it stays that way we honestly don’t need anymore!Heather
