On October 28, a group of us are planning on making a trip south to find this cache.

    http://coord.info/GC232EV

We are still in the planning process, but the idea will be to meet up somewhere along the way and carpool/caravan to the starting location. We currently have at least 5 teams confirmed to attend, with several more in the “maybe” category. We are anticipating this cache taking somewhere around 6 hours and involving something like 8 miles of hiking.

If you are interested in joining us, drop me a line or call me and let me know. We are basically organizing this on our SE Wisconsin Geocaching FaceBook group, Wild Bunch Geocachers. If you want an invite to the group, just ask.

I did the first stage of that one a few months ago. If that was any indication of the rest of the stages, this cache is worth every favorite point it has.

I did a bit of reading and also know of someone out east that did the original. Very interesting stuff if it uses similar puzzles.

    Have fun and enjoy.

Sound interesting, since I grew up in the area of the cache. I will have to check my calendar and with the ‘boss.’

Of those going, whom would be the closest one to the Janesville area that I might be able to grab a ride with?

Thanks TD! I will shoot him a message. Looks like I will be able to join the gang. Hope that I can contribute in some manner.

I can supply the hot water! ๐Ÿ˜†

Don’t think that should be a problem using the route we took…..though not sure it gave us the correct result without verifying in the field. Let us know if you’re interested in the tool used. ๐Ÿ™‚ ๐Ÿ™‚

Actually Todd is referring to the initial puzzle on the cache page. Obviously we would be glad to help you with that part.

I’d love to go with but have family plans that weekend. How do you figure out the starting coords from the audio? I can cut the voices down a bit by muting a speaker but still cant lock on any one voice.

Took me a bit to be able to get it correctly, but did not use any software in the end. I tried some, but it made it worse.

No biggie. This is not the only audio puzzle around and I basically ignore those. I really do not do puzzles anyways outside of field solves.

But thanks for the offer ๐Ÿ™‚

I would hesitate to say that the field part of this cache is the hard part. What with all of the items that you need to drag along with you. ๐Ÿ™‚
