12/15/2012 at 11:40 pm #1966336I haven’t seen any place if Minnesaota Geocachers are officially going to join our group for the event.

Jim and Brian have both posted to the MN Prez’s posting about it in their events thread.
01/01/2013 at 5:31 pm #1966338I kinda expect Team Cooler Crew will show up!
01/01/2013 at 6:26 pm #1966339Anyone know if geo-dogs will be welcome at the event?

01/01/2013 at 6:30 pm #1966340I found this link about dogs in state parks but this particular state park isn’t mentioned as being allowed or not allowed.

01/01/2013 at 6:35 pm #1966341Dogs are usually allowed, but only on a leash. Dogs are usually not allowed in the beach areas of pavilions. We will have our “hotdogs”, Jag and Sierra along.
01/01/2013 at 6:38 pm #1966342We just got our first dog a few months ago and so learning all the rules is a whole new world for me. Thanks!

03/09/2013 at 7:01 pm #1966343I’m planning on placing a number of new permanent caches in the park prior to the event (once this snow, ice, and otherwise messy stuff clears out!). 😯 There are a few there now, but not many. There are also some other nice areas (including the Gandy Dancer Trail) nearby that might get some attention too. Will see how much time I get in April and early May. I believe scott543 will also be placing a few new caches in time for the joint event.
Should be fun! 😮
03/09/2013 at 9:18 pm #1966344Thanks Spike007! New caches, night caches, tug-o-war, pancakes, and the great outdoors! 😀
03/30/2013 at 10:24 pm #1966345Just a few questions:
Who or where or what do I pay the $10 a day to camp in the group site?
Where do I park my car?
I found this map of the campground
http://dnr.wi.gov/topic/parks/name/interstate/pdfs/interstatemap.pdfWill you put some red x’s on the group site or sites and parking?
Is it the spot labeled pines group camp?
04/26/2013 at 3:09 pm #1966346There are 15 new permanent caches placed in Interstate Park, most on the Silverbrook and Skyline trails. Also a couple down in the picnic area near the river. Hopefully they will provide a good tour of some of the lesser traveled areas of the park.
Many of the areas along the river and the bluffs are designated State Natural Areas. They are definitely worth hiking (even without caches on them) – some interesting terrain and some great scenic views.
I may get out there and place a couple more prior to the campout – the warm weather this weekend should go a long ways in clearing out all the snow! 😉

you can pay here and order additional WGA or Groundspeak merchandise if you wish.

05/12/2013 at 2:17 pm #1966348Maybe not so preliminary since the campout is looming imminently but…
Does the WGA keep a coffee urn going Saturday morning during registration? Kind of like a hospitality/wake-up thing? I know there will be coffee along with the pancakes and other goodies on Sunday morning. 😀
05/12/2013 at 4:10 pm #1966349We have a coffee pot in the Hauler. We pulled it out at the last minute at Pike Lake last fall. That should be covered, and thanks for the reminder!
