My name is Becca and I chose a very creative username when I signed up with geocaching.com, it’s just my first and middle name. 🙂 Our family also has a profile, we’re the Cachers of Catan, but it’s mostly justa name for events. We’ve been geocaching for nearly 3 years now. We’ve enjoyed the outdoors for much longer, my whole life I suppose. I’m 33 years old and I’m a wife and mother to 3 children. I haul those children around on many of my geocaching adventures. My daughter likes to laugh and tell me that none of her friends have stories to share like she does. We live in Waukesha, a suburb of Milwaukee. We also have land and a cabin up in Gilman, WI where we spend a lot of time.

I work with preschoolers at the YMCA during the school year. In the summer I work with the older children planning out our specialty camps, one of which was teaching geocaching.

Other than my time spent work and geocaching, I am involved with other things. I help out at my children’s school regularly. I also volunteer at our church and teach Sunday School. My children are all in 4H and I volunteer in our club for various projects and am a Cloverbuds leader for the kids in grades K-2. My kids take lots of different projects and so I’m usually involved with whatever they’re learning about. I also love to take pictures (my geocaching gallery is pretty big), quilting and other crafty things. We also play a lot of strategy board games, hence the name Cachers of Catan.

First of all, I’m not sure who nominated me for the BOD but I’d like to thank them for the compliment. When I first started exploring the WGA website and learning what the WGA had to offer I assumed that I would one day be part of it. I guess that’s because it’s what I do, when something means a lot to me I get involved.

I love geocaching. I may have only been at this for just under 3 years but I have always enjoyed being outdoors. I enjoy many aspects of geocaching, from the scenic hikes to the puzzle solves to the social aspect of group caching and events. So what would I bring to the WGA? I enjoy being a part of it all and am happy to do the working and planning to make the events happen. I think I’d be especially helpful with getting the children involved and enjoying the events.
