This is a fun question that has been posed in one form or another most years. We’re planning a day caching together. You get to plan it. What will our day be like?
Personally, one place in WI that is in my bucket list is Madeline Island. I feel that would be an awesome place to grab a few caches. With the nine caches there, I think that it would be a blast grabbing half one day and half the other day while wetting a line and camping at Big Bay State Park.
It all depends on where we are going and who is going with, If Val is going along, it will have to be wheelchair friendly, a nice power trail or some city park caching. But on my list of caches to do this year is Eagle Source. Might try to get it for 7500 (only 56 away)
My questions ..
1) Is this going to be a 24 hour cache run?
2) Is this going to involve attending an event and finding caches before and after?
3) Do we have special considerations .. stick to a certain level terrain or difficulty so you can experience success in finding caches?I am pretty adaptable to what I have gotten into. I have been part of the 24 hour marathon geocache finding days .. food is what you have along .. we stop to pee only when necessary. I have been part of the attend an event then find caches along the way back home. I have geocached with people will all sorts of medical and physical limitations that needed to be considered so they also experienced a fun day.
So, tell me what you are up for .. I have a few power trails on my wish list to tackle or we can casually explore an area as I have a few of those on my wish list too.

Okay….tell me more about the region you’d like to explore. I won’t throw any pies at you, either!
In that case, let’s go into the Northwest region. I’ve played around in there, but I haven’t really cached much for some reason. Bring on the north woods.
Usually plan out my route before hand while loading up the GPS. Writing them down in order inside of my Geocaching Journal. Pack up some snacks, fruit , and plenty of water. Can’t forget to grab the camera for pictures on my geocaching blog. Usually in the planning process like to make sure there’s a little bit of everything when it comes to terrain and sizes. This summer I plan on geocaching on Madeline Island. Do some camping at Big Bay State Park, hiking on the trails, perhaps some swimming in-between finding the 9 geocaches on the island.
Regions .. okay, I am looking forward to the WGA Campout this year to get more into the woods. Urban caching is fine, but getting into the woods is more where I am at lately.
I am also looking forward to returning to Eagle River at some point when I have a free weekend. I have many memories there pre-geocaching days that it is now fun to return to find geocaches in the various spots.
But, I have some geo power trails on my bucket list for this year ..
I think I can adapt as well, although power caching has never really been my thing. Maybe that’s because I’ve never really tried it. My favorite caching is grabbing a few geocaches on a nice trail through the woods. I was very amused though when Team Deejay said that he was an “omnivorous cacher” as that is how I feel. I love high terrain caches, although there are days when a PNG makes me happy as well. Having pneumonia for the last 2 months makes you appreciate the PNG’s! I have spent many hours agonizing over hard puzzles and difficult hides and have loved the challenge of it all. I very much enjoy EarthCaches and have found 133 of them and created 7. They have brought me to so many interesting places and I’ve learned so much about simple geology. So basically, I love all kinds of geocaching! What would you like to do?

A day out caching with me is always about the same no mattter if we are paddlin’ down a river, hiking a swamp or riding a bike down a Power Trail.
Whe I go out it’s all about the caching stories of the fun things we’ve done, puzzles we’ve solved- anything to do with caching gets covered.
You can also count on lots of laughs through out the day and times where we stop and look at all the wonders we see out along the trail. Every adventure out there always is something memorable that happens and we’ll get to share it together.
