Chris WalkerCongratulations!
Election Details
These individuals will join or re-join current Board members Jim Bliefnick, Brian Kling, Peter Quella, Rob England, and Lisa Daniels to form the 2012 WGA Board.
Note that per our bylaws, WGA officers (President, Vice-President, Secretary and Treasurer) are not directly elected and instead are Board members that are selected and confirmed by the Board itself. Selection of officers should occur during the BOD meeting at the end of February.
The WGA would like to thank all the candidates who decided to run for the Board this year. All of the candidates were well qualified to serve on the Board and all would have done a great job and been an asset to the organization if elected. They all invested significant time and effort into running by explaining their viewpoints, describing their background, and answering questions in the Candidates Corner forum so that members could make an informed decision when it came time to vote.
Also, thanks to all the WGA members who spent time learning about the candidates, carefully considering the choices, and casting their votes. The involvement of members in this leadership selection process is crucial to the long-term success of the organization.

02/12/2013 at 3:14 am #1968223I personally would like to extend a huge thank you to the members who stepped up to run for a position this year. I cannot express enough how important it is to the WGA organization to have members like yourself, get involved.
Please consider making it a personal goal to stay involved in the WGA this year. A great way to get your name and face out there is by being part of an event committee plus we can always use new ideas and more hands. It also becomes a great stepping stone to running for the BOD next year being known by the members. I remind people all the time, I had to run for the board several times and that was my strategy.
02/12/2013 at 3:19 am #1968224Way to go!
02/12/2013 at 3:23 am #1968225I want to extend a very hearty THANK YOU to everyone who threw their hats in the ring this year and accepted the challenge to run for the Board of Directors. Congratulations to those who made the cut and secured a position and a note of encouragement to those who ran and fell short. We had several new names out there this year and everyone had a pretty good showing. Nothing to be disheartened about and I hope that you will consider running again when nominated. I know that nobody who ran, took the challenge lightly and would have made a successful director. Unfortunately, there were only four positions open and we had more candidates run than in previous years with more openings. That really shows me that we have a membership that is hands-on and interested in making the WGA successful.
I would also like to thank those who were nominated and decided not to run. You all made decisions that were well thought out and you weighed the choices between many factors. I would hope that if given the chance again and the stars align, you may run for a directors position.
Sometimes life gets in the way of our fun… 😕 😀 8)Disclaimer : Always answering to a higher power.
02/12/2013 at 3:27 am #1968226Thank you to all who voted for me, it means a great deal to me. I will give my best effort throughout my term on the board. I think that all that were nominated would have done a great job and I look forward to seeing you all at events or out on the trails. Thank you again, it’s a real honor. 🙂

02/12/2013 at 3:30 am #1968227Thanks to all who spent the time running this year, and I will also agree with Renee, It took a couple of times running to make it on the board, For those who did not make it this year, stay active. Work at a event, it is the easiest way to meet members and for them to meet you.
02/12/2013 at 3:35 am #1968228Congratulations to all 4 of the new board members. What a great group of new board members!

All opinions, comments, and useless drivel I post are mine alone and do not reflect the opinions of the WGA BOD.
02/12/2013 at 5:34 am #1968230Congrats to all four of you. Expecting great things as you join some pretty awesome board members already in place. I know you will each do us proud. And thanks to all those who ran for election, but did not get elected. Hope to see your names again next year! Here’s to a great 2013! Becca….are you going to bring up our trip to southeast Asia at the first board meeting? Be sure you let everyone know that WGA financing our trip to pick up Bad Robot is in the very best interest of the general membership – check out where we are going – GC2HMY3!

02/12/2013 at 11:13 am #1968231Congrats to the newly elected or re-elected board members, and thanks to all the nominees who stepped up to run for the board. 🙂
02/12/2013 at 11:29 am #1968232Thank you to all who were involved in the election process for the Board. We enjoyed reading all of the thoughtful questions posted, and the many, many responses really helped to get to know the viewpoints of the candidates. Often I thought about the time committment just keeping up with that. Your dedication to the task has already been impressive, and we are confident it will continue throughout the term in office.
The WGA is in good hands. We are pleased to be affiliated with this fine organization and wish the best to all who ran for the Board positions. Thanks.

02/12/2013 at 5:48 pm #1968233Congratulations to all four of you. I haven’t met beccaday but know the rest that have been elected and am confident in your qualifications to do an outstanding job on the Board. And, Rebecca, I hope you get a chance to get up my way some day to do some caching…there’s a Yellow Brick Road waiting for you.
