Some of you will recall the SetonCachers from Neenah-Menasha. These were 6th grade students of mine. For several years, each fall we’d release a new batch of TBs, and various cross-curriculum activities would be done all year. Write-ups and follow-up notes in language arts, GPSr use and mapping/tracking in geography, learning about new places TBs visit in social studies, posting and checking in computer ed, etc. Many of you WI geocachers went out of your way to grab and move our TBs, posting great logs and photos, and supported our project. Others were not so kind. About 50% of our TBs would be missing by Christmas and 25% more by Easter. It was an expensive and time consuming project, and a big reason we stopped was the high mortality rate.

But there are some TB survivors. Several staff would also create and turn loose TBs at the same time as the kids. Mine were usually some type of computer hardware. In October of 2009, I released a canabalized hard drive to the Geoworld. I’ve given it up as lost several times, but tonight I got an interesting post.

None other than THE Jeremy, Groundspeak President, grabbed my old hard drive TB ( TB2RZAP ) and dropped it in the Groundspeak HQ cache ( GCK25B )! We had a student TB visit the original cache out in Washington state one time, but this is the first one of the approximately 250 to land at Headquarters.

Any cacher that ever had your hands on a SetonCachers TB can take pride in the fact that one of ours is now on the hallowed grounds out in the Pacific Northwest! In a sense, you all played a role in getting this one there.
