For those who know Bugsmasher69, found this one FB tonight. Just thought I would pass it along
http://www.cressfuneralservice.com/obituary/120184/David-Braun/
He had quite a few FTFs in our early days of cache hiding. He got all 7 FTFs on our Green Lake South Shore series.
RIP, Dave.
Oh, no! We’ve done a ton of his caches… Little Black Box series is well-known here in central Wisconsin, especially along I-39. Never had the pleasure of meeting him, but we always enjoyed a day of “bug smashing” when we hit many of his caches.
We will miss him.
🙁
I met him at West Bend in 2010. Found a few caches with him. Saw him at a few other events since then. Nice guy.
All opinions, comments, and useless drivel I post are mine alone and do not reflect the opinions of the WGA BOD.
I have never met him, but our geocaching world seems a little smaller when one passes away. My condolences to the family.
So sorry to hear of yet another loss to our community. We had not met him, but had done plenty of his caches. Condolences to his family.
We had cached with Dave a few times and he was always a happy sort. Most of his 104 caches are in our area so we have done most of them. He had quite a variety of hides from the Black Box Series to hides out in Pine Island. About 40 of his hides are still active, I wonder what happens to them now?
I always thought his geocaching name of Bugsmasher was perfect for a long haul truck driver. He was always doing some sort of hook ups with his computer gear and cell phone. Even before the days of Smart Phones. I would usually hear from him right after one of our new caches were published about where he was and mad that he was missing an FTF chance.
We will miss him.
