I’ll volunteer to do the shopping for this one again unless anyone else has their hearts set on it. I know my family will help out that morning, hopefully the rest of the BOD can chip in as well. We should be asking for volunteers too.
I have a big tub of margarine in my freezer left over from the Cache Bash breakfast that I can bring. I know that there was some pancake mix left, does anyone remember how much? Syrup?
Last year at the campout pancake breakfast Hotdogs/Jeff talked to me about how serving fruit and sausage cut in to the profits and he didn’t think the people needed it. He’s right, pancake mix is cheap and those other things are expensive. But I still think it’s nice for the members. I think we make more on merchandise sales than breakfasts anyway. But I still thought that I should pass on these thoughts and see if you all had a thought about it.
Anyone remember how many plastic table cloths were left over after the chili event? We will probably want at least a few for the serving.

03/08/2014 at 4:24 pm #1975170Jeff is correct that fruit and sausage cut into profit but then again, we are a not for profit group. If we can recoup our costs, this is a success.
we do need a fruit nazi and a sausage nazi to be sure we have enough to go around however.
I do think that the WB breakfast is where we have much larger numbers and now after a few years of doing it we have some idea of what those numbers are, we can estimate our cost from the numbers we get at the campout. (of course, prices may vary)

03/09/2014 at 12:07 am #1975171I am being misquoted a bit…..I believe I said that all the fruit and extras will cut into profits of the breakfast. Sausage has been a staple of the pancake breakfast since the beginning…but needs to be regulated (not all you can eat).
I will be available to answer questions and help out a bit.

03/09/2014 at 1:36 am #1975172Whoops sorry about that Jeff! Thanks for setting me straight. I think that whether or not we have this stuff is whether we want the pancake breakfast to be a fundraiser or just to cover our costs.

03/09/2014 at 2:35 am #1975173Somewhere along the line the WGA needs funds, and this was begun as a fund raiser. Not much, but we always tried to make a profit to put a little into the treasury.
I’m going to MOGA the end of this month, and the costs of attending are from free (me) to $100/person (with perks). WGA has done a wonderful job of keeping the campout and picnic free to anyone that wishes to attend. I think that is a great record. 2014 will be the 13th campout I’ve attended.
03/09/2014 at 12:13 pm #1975174Pete can check when it is warmer, but If I remember right there is 15 lbs of mix and 1/2 jar of syrup
03/09/2014 at 1:29 pm #1975175That sounds about right on the mix because the bags are 10 pounds and I believe there were 1.5 of them.

03/11/2014 at 3:21 am #1975176The purpose of the campout pancake breakfast has been to help recover the expenses of the weekend. Pancake goers typically are the folks who incurred the expenses.
We need multiple revenue sources ..relying or counting totally on apparel sales when not everyone buys stuff ..
03/12/2014 at 10:21 pm #1975177I would like to volunteer to do registration, and sell the plates for Breakfast.
03/13/2014 at 4:59 am #1975178I’ll volunteer as mix-master again.
